Bamboo shoot shells were agricultural residues and potential unconventional feedstuff resources with a huge output. The paper focuses on the resourceful utilization of bamboo shoot shell feedstuff and the study of its detoxication methods of cyanide glycoside, which could provide theoretical foundation and practical reference for development and utilization of bamboo shoot shell feedstuff. The research focuses on the nutritional value and fermentation quality of bamboo shoot shell silage. Results showed that compared with fresh bamboo shoot shell, the content of dry matter, crude protein and phosphorus were on the high side. Bamboo shoot shell silage was not only riched in protein nutrient, but also contained mineral elements. Bamboo shoot shell silage was a kind of feedstuff with rich nutrition, so it could be a ideal silage material. Compared to 100% bamboo shoot shell silage group, The dry matter intake and weight gain of 10% wheat bran and 90% bamboo shoot shell silage group increased and feed/gain of Hu sheep decreased, the feed cost(per kilogram weight gain) of Hu sheep was down 1.61 yuan. Water content of bamboo shoot shell silage was on the high side while its carbohydrate content was on the low side. Thus, the contents of water, dry matter, crude protein and carbohydrate could be complementary when ensile and preparation among three feedstuffs. Fermentative quality of 10% wheat bran and 90% bamboo shoot shell group was higher than 5% wheat bran, 5% grass meal, 90% bamboo shoot shell group and 100% bamboo shoot shell group. Nutritive value and fermentative quality of 10% wheat bran and 90% bamboo shoot shell group meet the standards of high quality silage.Bamboo shoot shell contains cyanide glycoside. The research focuses on the determination of cyanide glycoside content in bamboo shoot shell and comparison of different detoxification methods. Results showed that average cyanide glycosides level was 15.39 mg/kg in fresh bamboo shoot shells. Silage, oven dry and water boiling removed the cyanide glycosides in bamboo shoot shells effectively. The hydrogen cyanide content reduced respectively by 84.78%, 56.52% and 97.86% after 60 minutes. The cyanide glycosides content of bamboo shoot shells gradually decline and the rate of detoxification gradually increase after oven dry and water boiling along with the extension of detoxification treatment. The variation of detoxification was most obvious by water boiling of three detoxification treatment. The research focuses on the effect of temperature, p H and feed preparation on cyanide glycoside content in fresh bamboo shoot shell. Results showed that cyanide glycoside detoxification rate of fresh bamboo shoot shell increased with increasing levels of temperature, the detoxification rate of fresh bamboo shoot shell was the highest when temperature was 75°C, being 51.27%. Cyanide glycoside detoxification rate of fresh bamboo shoot shell increased with decreasing levels of p H, the detoxification rate of fresh bamboo shoot shell was the highest when p H was 3.0, being 46.45%. The most obvious detoxification of fresh bamboo shoot shell could be obtained when temperature was 75°C and p H was 3.0. Cyanide glycoside detoxification rate of bamboo shoot shell silage added with cellulose was significantly higher than that of bamboo shoot shell silage without cellulose(P<0.05), the detoxification rate of bamboo shoot shell silage increased with increasing levels of wheat bran addition, the detoxification rate was the highest when the level of wheat bran was 15%. Thus the most obvious cyanide glycoside detoxification of bamboo shoot shell silage could be obtained when wheat bran was 15% and cellulose addition...
