| For comprehensive evaluation of nutrient status in Chinese hickory(Carya cathayensis)orchards soil of Tonglu and Chun’an in Zhejiang, principal component analysis and cluster analysis were conducted in this paper. Five principal components were obtained which accounted for 80%,the total information reflected by original 9 indexes. The systemic cluster graph was gained based on general scores of 120 soil samples. According to the cluster graph modulus, the soil samples were classified into â… ã€â…¡ã€â…¢ã€â…£ grades. The â… group was the fertility-highest samples with general scores in the range of 1.03≤F≤1.70 and occupied the position of the highest soil nutrient status and took up 10.83% of all the soil samples. The â…¡group was the fertility higher with the composite score in the range of 0.19≤F≤0.87 and proportion of 24.17%. The â…¢ group was in general, the composite score in the range of-0.50≤F≤0.12 and proportion of 44.17%. The â…£ was the fertility deficiency type and lack of each nutrient with the composite score in the range of-1.28≤F≤-0.55 and proportion of 20.83%. Generally, the soil of Carya cathayensis orchards of Tonglu and Chun’an in Zhejiang was rich in organic matter ã€alkali-hydrolyzable Nã€available Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, and short of available P with acute acidification and imbalance of soil nutrients. The overall soil fertility level was below the moderate. Additionally, the soil fertility status of Tonglu area was worse.Availability evaluation on the soil trace elements showed, in addition to the effect of the total trace elements, soil pH and the content of the soil organic matter had close effects on the content of the soil available trace elements.According to the analysis of kernel quality of Carya cathayensis, results showed that the kernels were rich in many nutritional trace elements, especially Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn and B, and had low variability in general. Compared to the kernels of Lin’an area, the kernels of the research area were richer in Mn, Cu, Zn, B, except Fe. Regionlly, the kernels collected from Tonglu area were richer in trace elements. The results indicates that there is an urgent need to optimize soil management of the Chinese hickory plantations to improve soil conditions and so that to maintain production of the Chinese hickory plantations. |
