The experiments were desigened to evaluate the effect the nutritional factors on reproductive performance of sows and blood index under heat stress. One was added betaine into the diet of parity one sows to detect its effect on reproductive performance and serum biochemistry index. Another was supplemented with tea polyphenols, betaine and combination of tea polyphenols and betaine to study the effects of them on reproductive performances. The experiment was conducted to study the effects of betaine on reproductive performances and serum biochemistry index of parity one sows. Totally 120 healthy gilts were selected and randomly divided into three groups. Gilts in control group were fed on basal diet and in betaine I group fed on based diet supplemented with1000 mg/kg betaine from 3 day post-mating to weaning, while gilts in betaine II fed on based diet supplemented with 2000 mg/kg betaine from 110 day post-mating to weaning. The results showed that weaned piglets in betaine I were 1.73 piglets greater than control, and total litter weaning weight were increased by 22.83%(P<0.05).Weaning-to-estrus interval within 7 day was shorter by 1.29 d(P<0.05) in gilts of betaine II compared with control group. The serum parameters in groups of betaine I GSH-Px and IGF-Ⅰwere significantly increased(P<0.0l) in pregnancy 110 day. The serum parameters in groups of betaine I and II including CAT, GH and IGF-Ⅰwere significantly increased(P<0.05) in 10 day of lactation. And GH, IGF-Ⅰ were also significantly increased(P < 0.05) in 21 day of lactation. The serum parameters in groups of betaine I IGF- Ⅰ was significantly increased in 21 day of lactation. Our study showed that gilts diet supplemented with betaine could increase reproductive performances of gilts by improving their antioxidation ability and serum GH and IGF-Ⅰlevel.The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of tea polyphenols, betaine and combination of tea polyphenols and betaine on reproductive performances and blood parameters of sows. Totally 150 sows were randomly selected with the same age and parity, which were divided into 5 groups. Sows in control group were fed on basal diet, A group fed the based diet supplemented with 100 mg/kg tea polyphenols, B group fed the based diet supplemented with 1000 mg/kg betaine, C group fed the based diet supplemented with 100 mg/kg tea polyphenols and 1000mg/kg betaine, and D group fed the based diet supplemented with 200 mg/kg tea polyphenols and 1500 mg/kg betaine. The results show that born alive piglets were1.20 piglets greater(P<0.05) in group C compared with control.Weaned piglets and total litter weaning weight were 1.60 piglets greater(P<0.05) and 22.98% in group C compared with control, respectively. The estrus rate within 7 day was the highest in group C compared, and weaning-to-estrus interval within 7 day was the shortest in group D compared with others. The serum parameters SOD in groups of C and D were significantly increased(P<0.05) than control, A and B group in pregnancy 90 d.The serum parameters in D group including BUN, Cor, TG and CHO were decreased during pregnancy of sows. Our study showed that sows diet supplemented with tea Polyphenols, betaine and combination of tea polyphenols and betaine could increase reproductive performances of sows by improving their antioxidation ability.
