Since the eighties of last century, Mutation breeding of ion beam implantation has been widely used in crop breeding research, and achieved good economic and social benefits. In this study, the ion implantation mutagenesis techniques was used to improving maize crop germplasm and solving the long-time maize breeding and narrow germplasm resources.Experimental study was divided:ⅰ. Using China Institute of Atomic Energy, nuclear physics national laboratory of HI-13 tandem accelerator and Key Laboratory of Ion Beam Bioengineering of Henan Province, Zhengzhou University, Maize germplasm was irradiated by different doses of ion beams, ⅱ. According to the field planting, the ecotypes of induced maize germplasm were observed and recorded. These data was analyzed by using biostatistics. iii. The mutagenic effects of experimental corn on the molecular level were researched by molecular biology techniques.According to the study of the experiments, the main results and achievements were achieved.1, After ion implantation of maize inbred lines selected traits useful material variation in the M3 generation performance is relatively stable, consistent with the variation between the spike seed traits, and the ability to stabilize the M4 generation.2, From the beginning of M1, ion implantation of various apparent traits of maize inbred lines have changed, mainly to record and study the radiation on the germination rate,plant height ear position, growth stage, leaf shape and size, resistance, panicle Characters effect and genetic characteristics of a large collection of reference significance firsthand experimental data.3, Low-dose repeated injection experiments showed inbred seed than a single injection of inbred seed beneficial mutation, indicating that secondary and higher ion implantation can achieve the desired effect of a single injection of large doses in small doses, it is recommended the future can continue to try to secondary or multiple injection.According to the above method, 71 maize inbred varieties had been obtained and used to breed series of new hybrids, "Fusheng" new varieties. As a result, “Fusheng 14-8” maize variety achieved good success in Hebei province regional density test, in 2014.
