Caragana, a kind of perennial shrub, has the characteristics of drought resistance, hardy, thermostability and deep rooting. As one of the most important trees for prevent wind and regularize sand, caragana conserves water and soil in the north and the western of China. Caragana stumping harvester used in caragana harvest work can realize of mechanical production and improve labor productivity, so the checking of the working performance of caragana stumping harvester, is very important. This paper uses LabVIEW virtual instrument to study field performance test system of caragana stumping harvester. The main studies are as follows:(1) In this paper, we analyzed the structure of each component of caragana stumping harvester, refer to the current kinds of sensors, compared their advantages and disadvantages, determined speed, torque and ranging sensor that used in this test system.(2)By analyzing the main performance parameters of each component of caragana stumping harvester, we got the measuring principle and method of harvester power, travel power, delivery device power, stubble height, etc. Finally, the design of signal acquitting system of various performance indexes has been determined.(3) According to the requirement of the performance test for caragana stumping harvester, using the technique of electro-mechanic and sensor, LabVIEW virtual instrument, we designed performance analysis system for caragana stumping harvester. The test system calculated the collected basic parameters which obtained intuitive index performance test results, and finished the design and development of visual operation software interface.The field performance test system of caragana stumping harvester can monitor the work quality and efficiency of caragana stumping harvester in real time, which improves the test precision and efficiency, is significant in improving the working level of mechanization technology of caragana stumping harvester.
