| Soybean is an important economic crop that originated from China where it has a long cultiva-tion history. With the arrival of the world economic globalization, China, once the biggest exporter of soybean, is presented with unprecedented opportunities and is also faced with many challenges. Due to the dumping of transgenic soybean and decreasing economic benefits of soybean cultivation, the enthusiasm of farmers to grow soybean is declining and the growth area is shrinking as well. China is now the world’s largest importer of soybean and it imports more than70million tons of soybean in2014.Vegetable soybean is a kind of variety where the pod is harvested at an immature stage with green color and it’s mainly produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan Provinces etc. Vegetable soybean is becoming more and more popular these years for its abundant nutrition and good taste. Because of its higher economic benefits, most farmers prefer to grow vegetable soybean rather than oil soybean.Recently, the study on vegetable soybean is rarely, especially in the variety traits, breeding level, current development and transformation law of vegetable soybean. The paper is based on regional test reports of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and State, combined with the breeding practice of our group. The result shows that the yield, fresh hundred-grain weight and height of spring vegetable soybean in Zhejiang Province increase slightly, while the number of available pods per plant, seeds per plant, growth period and the main stalk pitch number keep stable basically. Seeds per plant and fresh hun-dred-grain weight are significantly positively related to yield while the number of available pods per plant and height positively. The yield of State spring vegetable soybean, fresh hundred-grain weight and length-width ratio of the standard pod of State spring and summer vegetable soybean increase lately. Meanwhile, the growth period and the main stalk pitch number of spring vegetable soybean and the number of pods per plant and the growth period of summer vegetable soybean keep stable. However, height of summer vegetable soybean decrease. The yield of State spring and summer veg-etable soybean was significant positive correlated with the weight of pods per plant. It also indicates that crisp flavor is favored in Zhejiang Province, while sweet and soft in Jiangsu Province. As a re-sult, the tendency chart on variety traits of vegetable soybean of Zhejiang Province and State is gained through excel. Besides, the variety traits are compared among Zhejiang Province, Jiangsu Province and our country. The development direction of variety traits of spring vegetable soybean in Zhejiang Province and spring and summer vegetable soybean in our country are summarized. The development tendency of vegetable soybean is predicted, so that can provide breeding targets in the future. In addition, the merits and shortcomings of vegetable soybean in Zhejiang Province are ana-lyzed, that may provide some development suggestions for the vegetable soybean of Zhejiang Prov-ince. |
