Rosemary is native to the Mediterranean perennial evergreen shrub, belonging to the mint family which is a natural spice plants, currently planted in many places in our country. Rosemary is a widely used in addition to other than spices, also has a strong antioxidant activity. The body such as carnosic acid, carnosol, rosmanol, ursolic acid, rosmarinic acid and other ingredients all have strong antioxidant properties. Research shows that in broiler diets appropriate dose of rosemary extract can promote the growth of broiler chickens, broiler improve immunity, improve the intestinal microflora balance. However, the rosemary extracts as domestic poultry feed additive research is only just beginning. As people’s living standards improve and enrich livestock, poultry meat quality has attracted much attention. It requires not only the meat nutritious, but also have good taste and sensory traits. Some foreign studies have shown that a certain proportion of poultry diets with rosemary essential oil to test the chicken body weight gain, feed conversion and carcass rate and taste so has a significant impact. Domestic scholars Jinghai Yellow Chicken Rosemary dietary studies rarely reported. This study aimed to investigate the dietary Jinghai yellow chicken rosemary different proportions of additives on the growth, lipid metabolism, antioxidant capacity and meat quality, and to explore in Jinghai yellow chicken diets rosemary add appropriate amount of resources to make better use of rosemary provide a scientific basis.Divided 400 one-day-old Jinghai yellow chickens (BxJ) into 5 groups:control group and Test group Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ,Ⅳ with 5 repetitions and 80 chickens in each group with half for each sex and fed the control group with basal diet, while test groups with basal diet+100、150、200 250mg/kg Rosemary, the research was lasted 10 weeks to indicate that adding Rosemary at different levels can have an influence on the growth performance, meat quality and anti-oxidation of Jinghai yellow chickens. The results shows that:1. Higher concentration Rosemary adding could decrease water loss rate, shear stress, leg meat color (P<0.05) and increase the water rate (P<0.05)2. Adding Rosemary in the basal diet could increase chest rate, while reducing abdominal fat, which test group Ⅱ, Ⅲ pecs experimental group were significantly higher than the rate of leg control group (P<0.05). The results show that adding 150 mg/kg,200 mg/kg Rosemary into the basal diet will obtain the best result.3. Rosemary impact Jinghai yellow flesh muscles more apparent. The flesh-colored breast and leg with the increase of rosemary concentration increases. Adding rosemary may have a greater impact on the Jinghai yellow muscle loss rate. The flesh-colored breast and leg with the increase of rosemary concentration decreased. Each level has a certain influence on rosemary Jinghai yellow chicken in different parts of the muscle pH, but no significant difference (P> 0.05). Chest and leg with the increase of shear force rosemary concentration decreased.4. Rosemary can increase the moisture content of Jinghai yellow muscle to some extent. Rosemary on Jinghai yellow chicken breast and thigh fat content had no significant effect. Jinghai yellow chicken rosemary can improve muscle protein content to a certain extent.5. Adding Rosemary in the basal diet could increase the T-SOD and GSH-Px activity and decrease MDA content in serum.Above all, dietary supplementation with varying degrees of rosemary can increase the rate of Jinghai yellow chest, while reducing abdominal fat percentage. Meanwhile, adding appropriate level of Rosemary to the basal diet can increase meat performance, improve meat quality and enhance antioxidant ability. Take all factors into account, adding 0.015% Rosemary into the basal diet will obtain the best result.
