The assessment on the quality of forest landscape resources is an important part of forest resource management and it is the base of forest landscape construction. As the forest tourism develops, it is becoming essential that how to evaluate the quality of forest landscapes and how to use the results to guide the practice. There are three major methods of evaluating forest landscapes in the world, which are Describe Factor Method, Psychophysics and Questionnaire Survey. However, there are subjective issues affecting the reliability and validity of the above-mentioned three evaluation methods, which means, sometimes the evaluation results might be biased due to evaluators’own understanding. In order to overcome subjective factors of the evaluation results, scholars especially Ulrich have tried to use physical means to explore a method to evaluate landscape resources since the late 80’s. However, that method was limited by the technical conditions that the equipment didn’t allow to carry around then a large number of out-door samples were missing. Since 21st century portable physiological testing technology has made great progress, using physiological testing means the outdoor test samples were made possible. This study is based on previous studies and it uses Uni-ploar EEG acquisition device to evaluate forest landscape resources. In this study, the author applied Uni-polar EEG acquisition device (Mindwave brain tester) in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and did out-door experiments on 410 objects. The objetcs were grouped by 10 and wore Mindwave brain wave testing instrument while they visiting as tourists in Huangshi Zhai, Jinbian Brook, and Yuanjiajie scenic area. Mindwave brain wave testing instrument sends out an original brain wave to Andorid cellphone via Bluetooth every second. This orginal brain waves were decoded by algorithm calculation into attention value and saved in cellphone memory card in text format. The experiment testers recorded every date from the object’s arriving through the end of tour. To exam the feasibility of using uni-polar EEG acquisition device to evaluate the forest landscape resources, this study combined statistical analysis of brain waves by software SPSS 20.0, questionnaire survey, and experts’ interviews. From the analysis of the results, it proved that brain wave acquisition device has a very high reliability because the test-retest is 0.6776 and the copy of reliability is 0.933. The contrast comparison of the experts’ interviews and questionnaire to the brain wave results also affirmed the validity of the study. In terms of mass application, EGG measurement method has advantages over psychophysical measurement in expert method or structured analytic method, because it is simple to operate, short experiment duration and reduce experiments’ cost. What’s more, it amends the subjective issues of previous studies.Last, the author suggested some standards and requirements about brain wave measurement method, as well as some advices on future exploration.
