Changzhi City was selected to study the effect of fertilizer and subsoiling on the water utilization and the yield of spring maize in dryland on the water resources. The main research results are as follows:1. In all treatments, on the basis of NPK fertilizer application increase organic fertilizer could improve the spring corn crop photosynthetic performance group. Compared with the control, the yield was increased by 27.5%~85.0% in all fertilization treatments. NPK combined with organic fertilizer (A4) has the highest yield,14.8t·hm-2, which meet significantly correlated level between other treatments, followed by NPK fertilizer(A2),13.1t·hm"2, agained with N combined with organic fertilizer (A3),11.9t·hm-2, only fertilization of N (Al) is the lowest,10.2t·hm-2. Under the conditions of this experiment, inorganic fertilizer combined with organic fertilizer is an effective measure for improving the yield of dryland corn.2. Subsoiling in favor of leaf area of spring maize population community built and maintained at a high level. Compared with the control, the yield was increased by 62.9%~83.9% in all fertilization treatments. NPK combined with organic fertilizer under the condition of subsoiling (S4) has the highest yield,14.8t·hm-2, followed by NPK combined with organic fertilizer under the condition of normal rotary tillage (S2),14.5t·hm-2, agained with plastic film mulching treatment(S5),14.4t·hm-2, agained with only fertilization of N under the condition of subsoiling (S3),13.5t·hm-2, NPK fertilizer under the condition of normal rotary tillage (S1) is the lowest,13.1 t·hm-2. Under the conditions of this experiment, deep tillage can improve the quick acting fertilizer production increase effect. Deep tillage conditions for improving the effect of plastic film mulching yield of spring maize under same conditions and organic fertilizer.3. The water use efficiency (WUE) improved with the increasing of yield of spring maize after the organic fertilizer application, while subsoiling and the water consumption had little effect on WUE. Moreover, organic fertilizer application and subsiling reduced soil water deficiency, benefit the maintenance of water balance and abated the soil drought in dryland condition. Therefore, organic fertilizer application and subsoiling were the effective ways to increase the WUE.So, organic fertilizer and subsoiling were effective ways to improve the yield and water use efficiency of spring corn in dryland condition.
