The objects of this research were Yanqi horse in the XinJiang Bazhou Bayinbuluk Town. Thistest mainly studied the effects of supplemental Vitamin E and lipoic acid on the performance, plasma antioxidant capacity and other metabolic index of Yanqi horse. This experiment provides areference for Vitamin E, lipoic acid in the application of horse on training and racing.Experiment Ⅰ:11Yanqi horses were randomly divided into three groups according toperformance, body weight, body measurement and age. The groups were referred to as the controlgroup(3horses), experimental groupⅠ(4horses)and experimental group Ⅱ(4horses). Thecontrol group was fed basal diet. Horses in the groupⅠ and Ⅱwere fed with diet supplementedwith different levels of Vitamin E. All horses were participated in20km racing, on the20th day.Temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate of all horses were measured,30min after the racing.Simultaneously, blood samples were collected from the jugular vein. The result showed that theheart rate value of the experimental group Ⅰ and experimental group Ⅱ was highly significantlower than the control group(P<0.01),0min and20min after the racing. The plasma GSH-PX,SOD activity of the experimental group Ⅰ and experimental group Ⅱcompared with the controlgroup respectively increased by60.06%(P<0.01)、75.16%(P<0.01),31.27%(P<0.05)、38.25%(P<0.05);The plasma MDA concentration of the experimental groupⅠand experimentalgroup Ⅱ was highly significant lower than the control group(P<0.01); The plasma UAconcentration of the experimental group Ⅰ and experimental group Ⅱw as significantly lowerthan the control group(P<0.05);The plasma NH3-N,5-HT concentration of the experimentalgroup Ⅰ and experimental group Ⅱw ere lower than the control group(P>0.05).Experiment Ⅱ:11Yanqi horses were randomly divided into three groups according toperformance, body weight, body measurement and age. The groups were referred to as the controlgroup(3horses), experimental groupⅠ(4horses)and experimental group Ⅱ(4horses). Thecontrol group was fed basal diet. Horses in the groupⅠ and Ⅱwere fed with diet supplementedwith different levels of lipoic acid. The plasma GSH-PXactivity of the experimental group Ⅰc ompared with the control group increased by44.30%(P<0.05), The plasma GSH-PX activity of the experimental group Ⅱwas higher than the controlgroup(P>0.05);The plasma SOD, T-AOC activity of the experimental group Ⅰand experimentalgroup Ⅱ compared with the control group respectively increased by42.33%(P<0.01)、44.72%(P<0.01),77.41%(P>0.05)、68.62%(P>0.05);The plasma MDA concentration of theexperimental group Ⅰc ompared with the control group decreased by69.07%(P<0.05), Theplasma MDA concentration of the experimental group Ⅱcompared with the control groupdecreased by30.16%(P>0.05); The plasma FFA concentration of the experimental group Ⅰandexperimental group Ⅱ was higher than the control group(P>0.05).The result showed that the performance and plasma antioxidant capacity of Yanqi horse canbe improved by the basal diet added different levels of Vitamin E, lipoic acid. The physiologicalfunction of Yanqi horse can be fast recovery after the racing. During the race, the symptoms offatigue of Yanqi horse were mitigated. Compared, added1600IU/d· horse Vitamin E feedsupplement was especially effective,12.5g/d·horse lipoic acid feed supplement was especiallyeffective.
