The atmosphere is one of the basic and essential elements of the environment and allliving matter of human survival. With the developing technology of agriculture, animalhusbandry and aquaculture, people’s living standard has improved rapidly, however, theproduction activities have caused a great deal of gas pollution. How to manage andimprove livestock farms’ gas environment has become an important issue. Thus, the gasenvironment monitoring systems are widely used, as to the gas specimen collectionmonitoring system; it’s the first step in the overall strategic plan to improve the atmosphere.The accuracy and reliability of the system plays an important role to improve theatmosphere and directly impacts to the following gas analysis experiments, which need toanalyze the data of the pollutants in the air.This subject takes the actual needs of specific farms into account, accordingly designa gas sample collection monitoring system based on PLC and GPRS which is to collect gassample in the test points and to monitor all of the working condition of collection points.The system is divided into two parts, one is the acquisition device that collectedmonitoring data at the scene, the other is PC monitoring device.The acquisition device was designed in the view of modular design concept, all of thehardware devices are chosen the industrial automation products which suitable for outdoor.It chooses the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) as the acquisition controlling module,the Human Machine Interface (HMI) interface as the display operation module, and theGPRS as the wireless communication module. Through the programming and setting ofeach module, it achieves to collect data under the request of operation and control, and todisplay, store and transmit relevant data.PC remote monitoring devices are based on the industrial field operations, and selectthe GRM200G controlled intelligent GPRS communication module with its matchingGiant View PC configuration software as its developing environment. Based on GPRSmodule which is the transfer intermediary between the PC module and the PLC module,the device is using the user-define protocol to set the various registers of the PLC rewriteoperation and remote control of industrial action scene gathering collection device in awireless way.This system is running well in practice, it not only meet the demand of acquisition project and provide accurate data, but also promote the application of the relevanttechnologies.
