To study the effect of wheat in place of maize on the production performance of layinghens, the experiment of the diet of laying hens by adding different proportion of wheat insteadof maize is carried out to determine the production performance of laying hens. The test is conducted twice.First,1230red brown healthy laying hens of similar weight at the age of49weeks aredivided into2groups randomly (each group615, not a repeat).20%and40%of wheat insteadof corn is added to the diet of each group respectively in order to examine the impact of wheataddition on the production performance of laying hens. The experment period is21days. Theresult is: by adding20%and40%respectively of wheat instead of corn, the chicken rate, average egg weight, feed intake and other indicators have no obvious difference. But the costof adding40%is48yuan cheaper than that of20%,thus reducing the cost. Given that thewheat in the experment is shredded,it influences the feed intake and average egg weight andproduction in the experimental group is also reduced.Second,2432red brown healthy laying hens at the age of49weeks are divided into2groups randomly (each group2repeat,608/repeat). The experiment period is35days, thediet of one group is added with only maize, while the other froup is added with35%of wholewheat instead of maize to find out the influence of adding whole wheat on the productionperformance of laying hens.the result is: the whole wheat has no effect on the chicken feedintake: the egg rate, average egg weight, egg production and egg content by adding35%ofwhole wheat instead of maize has no obvious difference fron those with maize only.
