Due to the change in natural conditions, the development of science andtechnology and the progress of human perception, the corn planting patterns havedeveloped greatly from the animal-drawn tillage implement to the full mechanization.Basing on the field household investigation, the authors try to evaluate the existingmain corn planting patterns comprehensively in the central area of Jilin Province, tocompare the advantages and disadvantages of different planting patterns. The resultsof this paper can provide the reference information for the famer s choice andoptimization of planting patterns and the decision-making in agriculturalextensionsystem of government.Firstly, the comprehensive evaluation index system of corn planting patternincluding three second grade indicators and fourteen third grade indicators isestablished with considering thethreedimensions of economic benefit,environmentalsustainability andtechnology feasibility. On the basis of experts opinion, AnalyticHierarchy Process (AHP) was used in the determination of weight for every indicator.Basing on field household investigation, the authors collect the input-output data ofdifferent planting patterns and establish the corn planting model for comprehensiveevaluation. The model integrates the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) with the fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method. LCA is the synthetically way to measure theenvironment load of different corn planting patterns in the central of Jilin Province.The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to analysis and assesses technicalfeasibility for different corn planting patterns. With the established multi-criteriasystem and the weight,we ranked different corn planting patterns through comparingthe different corn planting patterns of the sized of comprehensive benefits.The result of economic benefit evaluation in the central area of Jilin province:Wide/narrow row planting pattern> Corn planting pattern of high photosyntheticefficiency> Uniform row panting pattern. the environment sustainability evaluation results of different corn plantingpattern in the central area of Jilin province: Uniform row planting pattern> Cornplanting pattern of high photosynthetic efficiency> Wide/narrow row planting pattern,it means that Uniform row planting pattern have the greatest environment impact,Wide/narrow row planting pattern have the smallest environment impact.The technology feasibility evaluation results of different corn planting pattern inthe central area of Jilin province: Wide/narrow row planting pattern> Corn plantingpattern of high photosynthetic efficiency>Uniform row planting pattern.In the currently agricultural production circumstances, the score ofcomprehensive evaluation of Wide/narrow row planting pattern is the highest in theevaluation results of different corn planting pattern, next is the corn planting patternof high photosynthetic efficiency and traditional uniform row planting pattern. Theranking of the comprehensive evaluation of different corn planting pattern:wide/narrow row planting pattern> corn planting pattern of high photosyntheticefficiency>uniform row planting pattern.Wide/narrow row planting pattern have the optimal result in the three dimensionsof economic, environmental and technology evaluation. Under the existingagricultural technology, wide/narrow row planting pattern is the best planting pattern,reconciling the different role of economic, environment, technical, the corn plantingpattern not only ensures the growth of grain yield and farmer income, but alsopromotes the sustainable development of agriculture.
