This study takes Phormium tenax which come from yunnan and New Zealand as experimental materials, has carried on the basic research for the adaptability of survival after introduction, growth, diseases and tillers,and selects robust buds and leaves as explant to induct callus for the best selection of medium. The main results were as follows:1After comparing, it is found that survival situation of introduced from yunnan and New Zealand Phormium tenax varieties,the survival rate of8varieties introduced from yunnan significantly higher than10varieties from New Zealand.2According to growth situation of different introduced batches, Phormium tenax growth differences between introduced from yunnan and from New Zealand is not obvious no matter in the aspect of growth of the plant as a whole or leaf and root growth.3Comparing the different varieties of disease,it can be found that disease of Sundowner, Jester, Black Rage, the Pink Panther, Yellow Wave than the other five species of disease in severe cases.From the survival and growth of data analysis, the growth condition of pavement are relatively serious varieties and survival is better instead.410varieties of introduced from New Zealand has not been tillering,so the tiller datas are taken from random sampling survey on8varieties introduced from yunnan. Survey results show that:the rainbow queen, the black knight and red sword tillering seedling is relatively small, and other varieties of the number of tillering seedling is very considerable. 5In the callus induction experiments of Phormium tenax, disinfect explant by using75%alcohol in15s firstly,and soak8-10min in an0.1%mercuric chloride.Adding sugar30g/L, AGAR9g/L in medium,and adjust pH5.8-6.0.6In the induction experiments of Phormium tenax buds as explants,material selected from robust tillering bud,adding different type and concentration gradient of hormone on the induction,it is found that using MS as the basic medium and adding in the MS medium (0.5mg/L6-BA and1.0mg/L2,4-d induction has the best effects.7In the induction experiments of Phormium tenax leafs as explants,taking no disease and robust leafs, the selected medium does not apply to induction of the leafs.and the induced effect is very poor.
