Triploid seedless watermelon were popular because of eating conveniently,high sugar content,highresistance and high economic benefit.10different diploid watermelon pure lines with number asS279,S555-2,S578,S608,S660,S762,DK7,S216B,A107, Cr and6different tetriploid watermelon pure lineswith number as TS279,TS555-2,TS578,TS608,TS660,TS762were used in this study, using incompletediallel cross, effects of parental genetic relationship and growth vigor on colored aborted seed of triploidwatermelon were researched, combining ability and heritability of triploid watermelon fruit characters wereanalyzed. Diploid watermelon pure lines S279, S660and TS33were used as pollen donators and topollinate different node female flowers of triploid watermelon varieties VS8-45and VS8-27, effects ofpollinators and fruiting node on colored aborted seed of triploid seedless watermelon.6tetraploidwatermelon pure lines were used to make up36hybridized combinations as materials, studying thecorrelation of of triploid and tetraploid watermelon colored aborted seed number.Genetic model of singlefruit weight, fertile seed number and colored aborted seed rate for6generation (P1,P2,B1,B2,F1,F2) bytetriploid watermelon TS682with TS542were studied. The results showed as follow:1The colored aborted seed number of triploid watermelon were related to parental genetic relationshipobviously, but not linear correlated.Parents were correlated with colored aborted seed number of triploidwatermelon, hybrid combination with TS660and S660had more colored aborted seed than others. Coloredaborted seed number of triploid watermelon were highly significant correlated with tetriploid watermelon’s.The growth vigor of all hybrid combinations were negative related to colored aborted seed obviously.Factor analysis showed that effects of growth vigor, center solube solid content and pericarp width oftriploid watermelon on colored aborted seed were higher. According to the comprehensive main componentmodel(F=0.35X1-0.13X2+0.08X3-0.15X4+0.2X5+0.08X6), F value of selected hybrid combinationappropriately was more than0, hybrid combination containing10or more colored aborted seeds was only5%,the average of all hybrid combination was2.03seeds.2The colored aborted seed number of triploid watermelon was related to diploid pollinators andfruiting nodes obviously, and not related to seed size of diploid pollinator, that fruiting at low node weremuch more. Single fruit weight of triploid watermelon was not correlated to diploid pollinators, fruiting atthe third female flower of main vine and lateral vine.3The general combining ability and specific combining ability of single fruit weight, pericarp width,center soluble solid content, edge soluble solid content and colored aborted seed number were96.43%,98.01%,95.05%,97.77%,84.26%and3.57%,1.99%,4.95%,2.23%,15.74%respectively. S578andTS762performed the best of all parents in the general combining ability of main characters, S555-2andTS762performed the lowest of all parents in general combining ability of colored aborted seed number.Broad sense heritability and narrow sense heritability of single fruit weight, pericarp width, center solublesolid content, edge soluble solid content and colored aborted seed number were54.76%,80.95%,49.64%,68.24%,51.99%and54.62%,76.03%,76.03%,49.11%,67.83%,23.34%respectively.4Major gene and polygenes mixed inheritance model results showed: The tetriploid watermeloncombination characters of single fruit weight and fertile seed number rate belonged to two pairsadditive-dominance-epistasis major gene+additive-dominance-epistasis multi-gene model(E-0). Charactersof colored aborted seed rate belonged to two pairs additive-dominance-epistasis majorgene+additive-dominance multi-gene model(E-1).
