In this paper, four tipes of ligneous plants such as Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn., Nerium indicum Mill., Cinnamomum cassia and Mytilaria laosensis Lec. were used as material to discuss the changes of physiological and biochemical properties and the rooting rate during the cutting propagation. The main results were as follows:1. Research on the time of apical appearing, rooting rate and rooting type in different branch ages:the apical of Nerium indicum whose rooting rate is the highest as the first to appear among the four types of ligneous plants. The time of apical of Semi-woody cuttings appearing is the shortest, but the rooting rate is the Highest. Nerium indicum and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, the apical began earlier time as the latent rootig primary, Cinnamomum cassia and Mytilaria laosensis the apical began later time as the induced rooting primary. Cinnamomum cassia with different branch ages is cortex,the other three Semi-woody cuttings mainly is cortex, cambium and type of comprehensive root. To the 2 years old,3 years old cuttings, Callus, type of comprehensive rooting is the main.2、Research on the time of apical appearing, rooting rate and rooting type plant growth regulators:Between trees, the rooting rate and apical appearing time as same as differen branches above.The Nerium indicum and Cinnamomum cassia rooting rate is the highest by the IBA 400 mg·L-1; The Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, and Mytilaria laosensis rooting rate is the highest by the IBA 800 mg·L-1. Nerium indicum and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, rooting type mainly are cambium; Cinnamomum cassia, Mytilaria laosensis rooting type mainly repectively with cortex, callus.3. Research on nutrients of the different branch ages:The soluble sugar content is lowest, in Mytilaria laosensis before and after cuttings in four trees, with the branch ages of branch cuttings increasing nitrogen content and rooting rate showed the positive relationship, and C/N ratio and rooting rate showed the opposite relationship, the content of soluble sugar changes inconsistent.4. Research on nutrients of plants treated by different plant growth regulator:Soluble sugar content of Nerium indicum is the highest, Nitrogen content of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is the highest. Between soluble sugar content, nitrogen content, C/N rate and rooting rate changes inconsistent by GGR different content. Between soluble sugar content, C/N rate and rooting rate changesconsistent by IBA different content, but nitrogen content and rooting rate changes inconsistent.5. Research on endogenous hormone of different branch ages:Semi-woody cuttings the rooting rate and IAA conent is the Highest. The other endogenous hormone are inconsistent in different branch ages. With the increasing of cutting branch ages, the relationship of rooting rate and IAA/ZR, IAA/GA showed the positive relationship. There is nothing difference between the rooting rate and the single endogenous hormone after cuttings.6. Research on endogenous hormone of the plants treated by different plant growth regulator:There is nothing difference between the trees rooting rate and the single endogenous hormone. The relationship of rooting rate and IAA/ZR, IAA/GA showed the positive relationship. There is nothing difference between the rooting rate and the single endogenous hormone in four trees.
