The research of precision seeding technology mainly focused on providing a uniform seed flow nowadays. There is still lack thorough and systematic study in soil covering and other parts. Therefore, the precision seeder achieved precision metering but failed to achieve precision seeding. In this paper, the soil covering parts of precision seeder were studied thoroughly and systematically which facilitated the development of theory and equipment to improve the precision seeding. The research contents are as follows:(1) Through the soil constitution modeling and physical parameters’ studied and analyzed, the soil parameters chart was founded; through the dynamic and motion modeling of the disc covering device, the relationship between cutting force and cutting angle,radius of curvature and soil motion was analyzed. The method of SPH(smoothed particle hydrodynamics-a meshfree particle method) was focused on. Through this method, the disc covering device cutting soil of the simulation process was studied. The values of stress-strain and the state of the motion of seed with the earth-flow movement at different times were obtained. It achieved the desired goal, established theory foundation for the subsequent studies, provided a effective experimental research methods.(2) Different structural parameters and motion parameters of disc covering device was designed by the methods of orthogonal test. The test indexes between different parameters were obtained. The influence factor of indexes by parameters and optimal parameter ratio were obtained. Though the optimized methods of orthogonal test, the number of experiment were reduced and the time was economized. It provides an available guide of theory for field test.(3) Due to the lack of disc covering device construction now, a new multi-direction adjustment covering device was designed. The device can adjust to interaction of field angle, the inclination angle, the height and the width of the covering components for multi-direction, and improve the seeding accuracy. Meanwhile, it can have a good adaptability to the different soil and condition of seeding. The simulation of important parts was analyzed using ANSYS. It can guarantee the reliability of the performance and rationality of the construction.(4) For the test of the results of the studies, a prototype of multi-direction adjustment covering device was made. Through analyzed and observed the data of the testing, the design parameters and construction of covering device was better. It provides a technological and practical guide for the actual production works.
