In order to promote the work of molecular marker assisted selection, the test researched the polymorphism of ob gene and the association between ob gene and the weight. The mutation of C-T was detected in exon 3 of the ob gene of Tan sheep by the technique of sequencing and PCR-RFLP, mutation homozygote was not discovered. Chi-square test showed that the frequency of AB and BB was in Hardy-Weinbery equilibrium. The effective genotype was AB, of which the frequency was 0.05. The result of correlation analysis was that the effects of the mutation on three-month weight and six-month weight were significant (P<0.05).The hypothesis testing of interaction effect display that the interaction between genotype and gender was not significant (P>0.05).The result provides reference resources for determining a breeding marker of Tan sheep growth traits.
