PCR-SSCP and DNA sequencing techniques were applied to analyze the genetic variation of GH gene (exon1&exon4 ), GHR gene (exon 9&exon10) and Leptin (exon 2&exon3) with the Gansu meat sheep new breed population in this experiment.The objective was to detect the hereditary characteristics and its associations with some growth traits (body weight) and to explore molecular markers with significant effects on important traits for efficient selection and improvement of the Gansu modern meat sheep new breed population and to provide genetic information for construction of molecular marker database, protection and utilization of breed resource of the Gansu modern meat sheep new breed population.The results were as follows:1,There were AA, AB two genotypes in GH gene sequence, The results of sequence analysis showed that 301bp have a T/A mutation, and 305bp have a G/A mutation of exon 1 of GH gene. the Gansu modern meat sheep new breed population. was at Hardy-Weinberg balance (P>0.05) he results showed that the AB individual three mouths old on body weight are not significan higher than AA(P>0.05), and birth weight , one months old two months old three months old six months old and age of the individuals are not significant different with different genotypes(P>0.05),in addition ,AA individual on body weight are higher than AB. There were no polymorphisms of Ex4 locus of GH gene.2,There were no polymorphisms of Ex9 locus of GHR gene.There were AA, AB two types in GHR gene sequence, The results of sequence analysis showed that 634bp have a G/A mutation, and 805bp have a A/C mutation of exon10 of GHR gene.the Gansu modern meat sheep new breed population was at Hardy-Weinberg balance (P>0.05) he results showed that the AA individual three mouths old on body weight are significan higher than AB(P>0.05) , and birth weight , one months old and two months old three months old six months old and age of the individuals were not significant different with different genotypes(P>0.05),in addition ,AA individual on body weight are higher than AB.3,There were AA, BB and AB Three genotypes in Leptin gene sequence, The results of sequence analysis showed that 29bp have a A/G mutation and 80bp have a C/A Tmutation of exon2 and of Leptin gene. The Gansu modern meat sheep new breed population was at Hardy-Weinberg balance (P>0.05) he results showed that the AA individual three mouths old on body weight are not significan higher than AB(P>0.05), and birth weight , one months old and two months old three mouths old six mouths and age of the individuals were not significant different with different genotypes(P>0.05),in addition ,There were no polymorphisms of Ex3 locus of Leptin gene.
