Guanzhong black pig(GBP) is an excellent cultivar breeding of Shaanxi Guanzhong Area, which has excellent performance in disease resistance, enduring crude feed, and meat quality. GBP has been lacking of better protection and utilization, which leaded to degeneration of its excellent germplasm characters. The Erhualian pig was famous for its big population and excellent germplasm characters. To cultivate more excellent local varieties(lines) based on the excellent genetic basis of GBP and Erhualian pig, we make systematic comparisons between the Shaanxi native Guanzhong black pig(GBP) and Erhualian pig×Guanzhong black pig(EG)(the EG is hybridized combination with GBP as a female parent and with Erhualian pig as a male parent) in fattening performance and meat quality. The results showed that:1、Growth and Development: At four month, the weight, length, and height of body, as well as chest circumference, circumference of EG were higher 22.74%,6.27%,1.67%,5.2% and 7.09% than that of GBP, respectively; At six month, the above indicators of EG were more 6.12%, 3.28%, 9.3%, 7.74%, and 10.53%, respectively.2、Fattening Performance: The fattening performance of EG was significantly higher than GBP. The average daily weight of EG was higher 15.45% than that of GBP and feed conversion ratio of EG was lower 16.57%.3、Carcass Quality: The slaughter rate, backfat thickness, fat rate, and proportion of suet of EG were obviously lower than that of GBP.4、Meat Quality: The drip loss, water loss rate, the total unsaturated fatty acid, EAA, and FAA of EG were higher than GBP. The cooked meat rate, shear forces, saturated fatty acid, and marbling of EG were lower than GBP.Overall, the growing and fattening performance of EG is significantly better than that of GBP, but the meat quality of EG is worse than GBP. |
