Manufacturing straw based green restructuring panel is an effective way to use renewable resources— straw, but the waxy layer of straw is the main factor of the panel manufacture. Currently, chemical method of peeling straw is not only inefficient, but also contaminative. In order to solve the problem of straw waxy layer removal by chemical method, the paper presents a mechanical peeling method by analyzing and comparing methods of peeling equipment of crops and trees, combined with the structural characteristics of the straw itself, mainly introducing the abrasive belt grinding technology into the straw peeling process and research the peeling principle.Based on the straw-peeling principle proposed by this paper, the author researches and designs a virtual prototype of straw-peeling machine, including power and transmission part, abrasive belt peeling part, frame and other components, meanwhile, checks the strength and stiffness of the key components. So as to verify the rationality of the straw peeling principle, simulation on the movement during the straw-peeling process has been done getting the trajectory and the main kinetic parameters of a point on the straw. Based on the result of the simulation, this study proves the straw-peeling principle is correct in theory. Finally, according to the design, a prototype of straw-peeling machine has been conceived, by which the author made the straw peeling trial and obtained the optimal parameters evaluated by the quality change rate. The bonding strength text has been made which verified the effect of the prototype. In conclusion, the result shows the peeling effect is well and the design can meet the demand.
