Cucumber(Cucumber sativus L.)is a favourite eating variety as a kind of fresh vegetables. Recently,As people life quality and the level of consumption constantly improve,They not only pay attention to the flavor and nutrition,but some color bright green,clean and tidy appearance and glossy fruit skin in cucumber get more favour. Therefore,the variety whih good appearance and good inherent quality have become The main aims of breeding in cucumber.In this study, mature fruit skin gloss of 76 accessions of different types of cucumber were seleced and evaluated tested by glossmeter(HYD-09). The results showed that there were obvious variances of fruit skin gloss between different varieties and types of cucumber germplasm,swinging in the range of 1.32(Gs)~4.92(Gs).Three accessions of the glossy fruit skin germplasm was selected that its gloss had more than4.60(Gs)and nine of the dull fruit skin germplasm was selected that its gloss accessions had less than 1.60(Gs).We choose two glossy fruit skin cucumber varieties(D0432-3-3;W5-34)and three dull fruit skin cucumber varieties(649;ebai07-6;HL-3) as hybrid parent. Griffing Ⅳ[1/2P(P-1)] Complete diallel cross has been used to form 10 hybrid combinations, one of the hybrid combinations with the diffrient gloss degree(D0432-3-4×649)is checked to form the six generations population, meanwhile,each generations fruit skin are quantitative tested and analysis genetic of glossy fruit skin in cucumber.We use D0432-3-4×649 as hybrid combinations get F2 segregation population, combine BSA and SSR get some DNA maker that associated wih glossy fruit skin gene.Moreover,we study the relation between wax powder and glossy fruit skin in the process of development fruit use D0432-3-4 with glossy and little wax powder in fruit skin and 649 with dull and more wax powder in fruit skin.The main results as follows:(1) HYD-09 gloss meter can be used for quantitative detection of cucumber fruit surface gloss, The numerical size can accurately reflect the fruit surface gloss degree. Different ecological types of cucumber varieties have significant differences between the fruit surface gloss. Fruit skin gloss in Europe greenhouse type is Significantly higher than the other three ecological types. Four types of ecological fruit cucumber average surface glossiness sorted in the order: Europe greenhouse type >South China type >North China type >Curing processing type.Three accessions of the glossy fruit skin germplasm was selected that its gloss had more than 4.60(Gs)and nine of the dull fruit skin germplasm was selected that its gloss accessions had less than 1.60(Gs).(2)Glossy fruit skin trait in cucumber is qualitative trait,which controlled by a single gene,it is named g. glossy fruit skin trait is recessive relative to dull fruit skin trait in cucumber.(3)We use D0432-3-4×649 hybrid combinations get F2 as mapping population, g gene is mapped to a linkage group with 18 SSR makers,the distance of group is 102.7c M,the average distance is 5.7c M.Maximum distance is 11.3c M and Minimum distance is 1.4c M.The flanking markers SSR17321 and CSW1008 are linked to the g gene with genetic distances of 2.8cM and 2.0c M, respectively.Then we corresponding g gene to chromosome 5 of cucumber.(4)Wax powder has been produced in cucumber female flowers early flowering season, and have the largest number.Cucumber pericarp wax powder is a kind of irregular configuration globule on cucumber skin surface. Along with the growth and development of cucumber fruits, wax powder amount gradually reduced. There are certain differences in different cucumber varieties of pericarp wax powder of the decomposition process.
