The corn bran was used for formulating anionic additive in this experiment to study the feasibility of corn bran as a carrier from dietary cation-anion difference(DCAD) of corn bran, dry matter intake(DMI)of cows, urine p H, serum biochemical indicators and the incidence of disease. In this assay, three experiments were designed to provide theoretical support for the feasibility of corn bran as a carrier.Experiment 1 Carrier screening and preparation of anionic additivesDetermination of cation-anion content of common carriers and calculate the DCAD value, selected the one with the smallest DCAD value as the carrier to formulate anionic additives. The results showed that, the DCAD value of corn bran without steepwater(-9.99Emq/100 g DM)significantly lower than corn bran with steepwater and DDGS(P<0.01). Thus it can be seen, the DCAD of corn bran without steepwater is negative, and it may replace part of anionic salts as a carrier to reduce costs.Experiment 2 Effects of different anionic additives on dry matter intake and urine pH of cowA single factor random block was used in this study. Sixty Holstein cows were fed with one of the three diets: Control(diet A): No anion additive TMR; Treatment group I(diet B):TMR+3%anionic additive(GNB HRBYD-902); Treatment group II(diet C):TMR+ 3% anionic additive(the anionic additive with corn bran as the carrier). The result showed that: During the experiment period, treatment group I and treatment group II had a lower dry matter intake(DMI) than the control group(P<0.01), and there was no significantly difference between treatment group I and treatment group II(P>0.05). In the first week, the DMI of the three groups were gradually increased, and the difference between the two treatment groups and the control group was gradually reduced and minimized in the second week. In the third week, cow`s DMI of all groups decreased rapidly. The urine p H of control group were 7-8 during the whole experiment period.Treatment group I and treatment group II had a significantly reduced than control group in the first week(P<0.01)and stabled about 6 in the second week and the third week. So the anionic additives with corn bran as the carrier have a positive effect.Experiment 3 Effects of different anionic additives on serum biochemical indicators and postpartum illnesses of cows.Experimental animals and experiment design was the same as experiment 2. A single factorial trait was designed to study the effect of different anionic additives on serum Ca, P, parathyroidhormone(PTH), Hydroxyproline content and the incidence of disease. The result showed that: there was no significantly difference between the two treatment groups and control group on content of serum Ca, PTH and Hydroxyproline before the calving(P>0.05). On the day of calving, compare with control group, treatment groups were significantly advanced the content of serum Ca and Hydroxyproline(P<0.01) and significantly reduced the content of PTH(P<0.01). During the trial period, there was no significantly difference between the two treatment groups and control group on serum P(P>0.05)。In conclusion, anionic additive with corn bran as a carrier has the same effects with GNB HRBYD-902. Thus it can be seen that corn bran can be used as a carrier of anionic additive.
