Shigella can cause bacterial dysentery in clinic and intestinal inflammation and the main performance is colonic edema, ulceration and inflammation. About 99% affection occurs in the developing country. Children and young animal have a higher infection rate and mortality. However, Shigella can not only cause the death of duck embryos during the hatching of eggs, but induce infection of ducks in large proportion. Through bacterial isolation and culture, morphological, biochemical test to investigate the resistance of Shigella to antibiotics in Tai’an, 120 sick or dead duck embryos were colle-cted from a certain dark farm in this study. The culture, morphological tests and biochemical reactions of bacteria: by the way of isolation, culture, dyeing and the 16 S r DNA gene blasting in Gen Bank, meeting the standards of characteristics of Shigella is 47 strains and the isolation rate was 43.5%(47/108).2. Kirby-bauer method was used determine the resistance to 15 antibiotics, drug sensitive test results showed that 47 isolated Shigella have the least resistance rate to gentamicin accounting for 46%(22/47), the second is bpolymyxin B with resistance rate of 42%(20/47), the last is spectinomycin with resistance rate of 40%(19/47); the 47 isolates of Shigella presented different resistance to other antibiotics, and the resistant isolates account for 10.7% to 46.8% of the total isolates. The result showed that the isolates of Shigella in the same area have significance difference in the resistance o sorts of antibiotics.
