Nowadays although the goverment is paying great attention to agriculture andthe support of agricultural machines, but the machanization is still incomplete interraced areas, the agricultural labor force is reducing at the meantime.This paper isaim at designing and researching the micro tillage machine to improve theirfeasibility in terraced areas and the satisfaction of users by applying the feasibilitytheory, analyzing and researching into the elements including environment, users andthe machines to find out the requirements of users for the agricultural machines interraced area.The usability theory is systematically analyzed and researched in the paper, andthe relevant factors are fully analyzed as well. It has an complete analysis on theterrace’s environment, clarifying the major environment difficulty for the machine;The user requirements are clarified by the steps of defining user, requirementanalyzing and user interview; It lists the basic requirements of micro tillagemachine for terrace by analyzing the machine’s function models and user models. Itmodularize the micro tillage machine user level to help users manage to upgradetheir agricultural tools easily. The designing of full machine modularization can helpfarmers to choose to buy the right components. The modularization raise thepossibility of functions. The complete machine’s usability is improved by theexpanded modules designed for the requirements by users, those requirements areanalyzed from the different user models.The machine is divided into main module and function modules, the usabilityresearch and design for divided modules are more specific, completing designsaccording to environment and users’ requirements. The main module consists ofwalking, movitation, handrail and holders parts. Two solutions for walking modulesin track modes are made on the base of full research. Complete theoretical analysis ismade for choosing engine models. The handrails are also improved based onergonomics to make sure users are in suitable posture to operate machine. Thefunction module is divided into two design direction included farm and processingfunction modules. Rotary tillage module and maize straw separation module aremainly used for the usability analisis. In the paper, experienced evaluation andimprovement is made continually, and send the design charts to professional designers and users to evaluate after a basic machine is formed and then carry outimprovement according to the evaluation results.
