Endometritis, which is caused by bacterium is the common disease in postparsuam ofcow. This disease can cause the infertility of cow and enormous economic losses to the cowrearing industry. Pathogen resistance and drug residues have become increasingly serious dueto long-term use of antibiotics and hormone drug. Advantages of traditional Chinese medicinein treatment of bovine endometritis have been found. The studies include that the research onantibacterial effect in vitro were employed as an evaluation index to screening of traditionalChinese medicine, effect of which on cow endometritis common pathogenic bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, was good; andanti-nflammatory effects of ingredients from traditional Chinese medicine.1. The antibacterial experiment of traditional Chinese medicine and its ingredientsin vitro: The inhibitory activity of traditional Chinese formula and its ingredients were studiedby using agar diffusion plate method and tube twice times dilution method in vitro. Theresults showed that, the inhibitory effect of Rhizoma Coptidis, Radix Scutellariae, Redix etRhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae and Fructus Forsythiae on Escherichia coli were fairly good, with the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) were16,62.5,125,62.5g/L, respectively, and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were32,125,125,125g/L, respectively. The bacteriostasis of Rhizoma Coptidis, Radix Scutellariae, Redix et Rhizoma SalviaeMiltiorrhizae, Fructus Forsythiae, Herba Euphorbiae Humifusae and Flos Carthami onStaphylococcus aureus, the MIC were16,32,125,16,62.5,125g/L, respectively; and theMBC were16,32,250,16,125,250g/L, respectively. The bacteriostasis of Rhizoma Coptidis,Radix Scutellariae, Redix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae and Fructus Forsythiae onStreptococcus were pretty good, the MIC were32,32,16,125g/L, respectively; and the MBCwere32,64,32,125g/L, respectively. The above pathogenic bacterium and clinical bacteriumwere sensitive to the compound prescription2and compound prescription3, of which theMIC and MBC were between8and64g/L, respectively. These results indicated that theantibacterial effects of Rhizoma Coptidis, Radix Scutellariae, Redix et Rhizoma SalviaeMiltiorrhizae and Fructus Forsythiae on Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus andEscherichia coli, and the synergistic antimicrobial effects was found on these compound prescriptions.2Compound Chinese medicine on anti-inflammatory test in mouse models ofinflammation: The anti-inflammatory effect of ingredient of tranditional Chinese medicinewas studied by using mouse ear swelling and Formaldehyde foot metatarsus swelling in mice. The results show that traditional Chinese medicine compound composed of Rhizoma Coptidis,Redix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Fructus Forsythiae, Flos Carthami in the dose of20g/kg and40g/kg could significantly inhibit the mice auricle swelling, and inhibition ratewere48.22%and61.23%, respectively. And the effect is similar to the dexamethasone. Thetraditional Chinese medicine compound could significantly inhibit foot metatarsus swelling inmice with doses of20g/kg and40g/kg, and inhibition rates were43.70%and64.36%,respectively. Foot metatarsus swelling inhibition rate of dexamethasone was55.48%in mice, which indicated that the traditional Chinese medicine has significant anti-inflammatoryeffects.3The influence of compound Chinese medicine on macrophage secreting cytokinesin mice:After LPS stimulation macrophages, LPS group cell secreted TNF-α, IL–6, NO andiNOS levels were significantly increased, compared with cells in the control group weresignificant(P<0.05). The traditional Chinese compound formula between312.5~39μg/mLcould inhibit the secretion of macrophage TNF-α, IL-6, NO, Inos. The secretion ofmacrophage TNF-α from compound Chinese medicine group with dose of39μg/mL wasignificantly less than that of the LPS group. The secreting of NO by macrophage fromcompound Chinese medicine group with dose of312.5μg/mL was significantly less than thatof the LPS group, wich indicated that the compound Chinese medicine has anti-inflammatoryeffects.
