| Abstract:From June2012to April2013, digestibility trials were conducted on nine s un bears (Helarctos malayanus) at Shanghai zoo in spring, summer and winter. Feces a nd forage samples were taken in each season to analyze the digestibility of Sun bears in different seasons. Also, the influence of age generation was discussed in this paper.5days pre-experiments and then5days formal experiments were carried out in Shangh ai zoo.The results showed that:the apparent digestibility of dry matter, fat and crude protein for adult sun bears were71.41%,70.95%and66.18%, respectively. There were highly significant difference between Summer and winter, spring and winter(p<0.01), and no difference between spring and winter (p>0.05). Among different age groups in summer, young group has the highest digestibility on dry matter, fat and crude protein (81.58±6.24%,85.49±6.49%and79.83±7.19%, respectively), while the old group has the lowest(71.02±3.48%,78.42±4.22%and69.95±4.60%, respectively) There was significant difference (p<0.05) on dry matter digestibility compared young and adult groups with old group. No difference (p>0.05) among those three groups on fat digestibility. There was only significant difference (p<0.05) between the young and old group on crude protein digestibility. To investigate the normal intestinal flora and its diversity in adult sun bears, we collected faecal samples from three adult sun bears in the Shanghai Zoo on December,2013. Genomic DNA was extracted for PCR amplification of the16SrRNA V4hypervariable region. Pyrosequencing of the PCR product by Illumina MiSeq. A total of fifteen bacteria phyla were identified, seven of which were commonly found in the three samples, Firmicutes(54.70%),Proteobacteria(41.90%),Fusobacteria(1.80%),Cyanobacteria(0.70%),Actin obacteria(0.20%),Bacteroidetes and TM7.73.10%of sequences from the three samples could be identified by the genus and Streptococcus, Escherichia/Shigella and Clostridium Ⅺ were the predominant genuses. |
