| The landscape of Guangdong mountains is in serious situation, such as less understoryvegetation, low in biodiversity, poor scenic beauty, benefits of biology and economy rapidlydeclined. In this work, I study the models of understory plant arrangement by analyzing theimportance, biodiversity, seasonal aspect and spatial structure of plant species using literatureanalysis, field survey, data statistics, factor description based on the field work in therepresented mountain landscape of Guangdong. Results are as follows in this study:Firstly, I conduct the field investigations of106plant communities in14scenic areas ofGuangdong Province and record300spices belonging to100families and233genera. Theyare divided in gymnosperm:3families,3genera,5species; angiosperm:81families,211genera,269species; pteridophytes:16families,19genera,26species. The whole landscapeforest is constituted by70species of evergreen trees,18species of evergreen small trees,15species of deciduous trees,5species of small deciduous trees,66species of evergreen shrubs,8species of deciduous shrubs,84species of herbs,34species of vines. By theseinvestigations, we conclude that the plant communities of Guangdong mountains landscapeare poor mainly decided by evergreen without seasonal changing. In our analysis of the tree species,we take two points: the ability to adapt to environmentand the ornamental value based on the importance of plant and its seasonal analysis. By theend, we try to classified these trees into three group: great adaptability and scenic value; greatadaptability and low scenic value; great scenic value but rare in samples. We sorted the plant arrangement on the vertical space into4groups: smalltree/shrub/herb; small tree/herb; small tree/shrub; shrub/herb. In order to give our suggestionsabout trees collocation and community, we evaluate the existing plant community collocationon species number, local characteristics, community structure, health status, ornamentalcharacteristics, botanical forms, space composition, seasonal variation using factor descriptivestatistic. In our work, we suggest three model about trees collocation and community to show thevariation scenic in spring/summer flower, autumn leaves or the whole seasons. Also, we teaseout one pattern to simulate the artificial landscape of plant community from nature. Our workcould be applied to simulate the understory vegetation designation and be of be of great helpto restoration of the mountain landscape in Guangdong. It is no doubted our study could bringnew elements into urban garden showing Hunan local culture characteristics, as a goodreference in this research field. |
