| Silicon is one of the elements necessary for the growth and development of rice.Its not only play a catalytic role in growth and development of rice, but also help to improve the resistance of rice. After the silicon were active absorption by roots, deposited in rice’s leaf epidermal cells.Forming keratin-double layer of silicon, a layer between the epidermis cell wall and the stratum corneum, a layer in the epidermal cell wall combination with cellulose. This keratin double silicon layer cloud enhance the resistance to fungus and insect pests of rice. Thus, prove the insect resistance mechanism of rice enhanced by silicon has important implications for breeding resistant varieties of rice and ecological control for pests. In this study, we combination N, P with Si for rice foliar spray, determined the content of soluble sugar and oxalic acid of rice leaves and then use scanning electron microscope (SEM) to observe the relative content of silicon element of the rice leaves after spray. In order to study the effects of insect resistance after silicon foliar spraying, we studied the growth and development status of the white-backed plant hopper and rice leaf folder on the rice after spray. Specific results are as follows:1Effects of physiology and biochemistry of rice after foliar spray of siliconThe results showed that the content of soluble sugar in rice leaves increase with the concentration of P, N elements. Although Si can promote the content of soluble sugar increase, its stimulating effect weaker than than P, N elements. Si elements can stimulate the synthesis of oxalic acid in rice plants, and can be reduced the inhibition of oxalic acid synthesis because of the high concentrations of N elements to some extent. SEM scans showed:added the Si elements to spray liquid the relative content of Si element of rice leaf both sides increased, but the differences of different Si treatments are not obvious. Scanning electron microscopy also found, leaf through foliar spray have more Silicide cells and tightly packed. These results indicate that: silicone foliar spray will help improve the silicon content in rice leaves.2The influence of spraying silicon on the growth and development of white-backed plant hopper and rice leaf folderThe results showed that:foliar spraying silicon has a significant influence on the growth of rice leaf folder, with increased of the silicon concentration the developmental duration of4instarrice leaf folder Significantly prolong. But with the increase of the silicon concentration, rice leaf folder3instar larval food consumption increases. In addition, the white-backed planthopper developmental period did not change significantly after foliar spraying silicone; But with the concentration of silicon increases fecundity of white backed planthopper significantly reduces. The results of this experiment showed that foliar spraying silicone causing a rise in the silicon content of rice and then causeing insect resistance increased. Silicon on the one hand can promote the growth of rice, on the other hand can improve pest resistance. Therefore, prove the insect resistance mechanism of rice enhanced by silicon has important implications for breeding resistant varieties of rice and ecological control for pests. |
