| Except for outstanding antibacterial ability, human beta defensin3can chemoattract monocytes. macrophages, CD45RA+/CD4+T cells, mast cells and immature dendritic cells, and induce expression of the costimulatory molecules CD80, CD86. and CD40, on monocytes and myeloid dendritic cells. In vitro experiments showed that HBD3can regulate the proliferation of mice lymphocytes. This led us to examine the effects of HBD3on specific immune responses in vivo.Mice are injected i.p. on day1and14with Staphylococcus aureus vaccine and HBD3, On day21, all mice are sacrificed.(Inactivated vaccine as a control group; inactivated vaccine and Freund’s adjuvant as a adjuvant group.) The ELISA results of serum IgG levels showed:Compared with control group, IgG levels were increased by HBD3significantly; Compared with adjuvant group, IgG levels were slight promoted but not significant. qRT-PCR test results showed:Compared with control group and adjuvant group, the mRNA expressions of costimulatory molecules CD80/CD86and MHC II molecules were increased significantly. It indicate that HBD3has the potential of becoming a new immune adjuvant to improve the protection effect of vaccine on body. |
