In order to protect the biodiversity in ordos region,and develop the local native tree species, making full use of local trees, This is one of the main purpose of the study. under the condition of limited water resources, research by the way of researching and producting.it provides a large number of high quality for urban landscaping. This article was based on Berberris caroli Schneid as test material,At first researched the change of growth and physiological characteristics and then studied the influence of growth, leaf area,soil water content and leaf relative water content;second, designing a orthogonal test with four factors and four levels, Studying the effects of water and fertilizer for Berberris caroli Schneid in, using SPSS and EXCELto analysis, is convenient and fast to find the optimal conditions, the advantage of the orthogonal experiment is also rapid and efficient, Saveing a lot of money, manpower and material resources, etc. The experiment can reach the following conclusion:(1)The different irrigation water have different degrees of influence for the height,leaf number,leaf area dynamic,leaf relative water content and biomass.With the gradual increase of irragation water,growth parameter also increase gradually.Parameters have significant difference on the condition of150mm and250mm between350mm and450mm.Different irrigation water have different degree influence for transpiration rate,chlorophyll content,soil conductivity and soil temperature.When the seedings were stressed by water,it had low stomatal conductance and transpiration rate by shutting stomata so as to lower losing water by transpiration.It had high stomatal conductance,transpiration rate to open stomatal so as to increase photosynthesis in enough water. Conduct of soil and soil temperture decrease with the increase of irragation.(2) Under the effect of drought stress, Some leaf became curly phenomenon on the ninth day as time goes on, Because of seriouse losing water. leaf begin to wither on15th days, most leaves began to dry on21th days, It is no signs of life on23th days, the above showed that the smaller the leaf relative water content decreased, the stronger the leaf water capacity, The drought resistance is stronger.(3) The size of the order of plant height poor R value is9.0>8.9>7.8>7.5, the size of the order of leaf area the poor R value is2.6>1.5>1.3>1.2. So all the factors about the size of the degree of effect of primary and secondary relations of plant height and leaf area as follows:B> D> C> A. Water cycle> fertilization.> soil matrix> irrigation. Water cycle is the main factors of affecting the height and leaf of Berberris caroli Schneid, then fertilization.
