The innovative design of the telescoping device of reel which is verified thefeasibility through the3D simulation soft and the bench testis aimed at expandingthe scope of reel.Made the measurement of the property of corn plants firstly and carried out theregression analysis. Bases on the result, the reel height and the radius of theoperating range of the telescoping device were carried out. The reel height is620mm. The telescoping device of reel was designed on the base of the resultabove. And built3D models through SolidWorks3D simulation software andrecorded the moving track of the top of dial the tooth the through path tracingfunction of Motion analysis. Built the test bench and carried out the orthogonalexperiment on the basis of experiment design.On the basis of experimental results discussed the influence of device speed ofreel, feeding speed and feed position on performance of telescoping device of reel.The analysis results show that the feeding position impact significantly on thesuccessful rate of dialing, the other two factors have less effect on performance oftelescoping device of reel and there is no obvious different effect on the resultbetween the200mm level and the center feeding position. This conclusion fullydemonstrates that the performance of telescoping device of reel is ideal. Theanalysis of the test proves that the impact of telescoping device of reel will bebetter, in the center feeding position, device of reel at the speed of100r/min ofand feeding speed at0.79m/s.The innovative design of the telescoping device of reel in expands the radiuswithout changing the space which the device of reel occupies. It makes the spacelarger between the dividers and enlarges the operating range of snapping roll. Thesingle corn reel effect range with retractable teeth increased from100mm to145~176.6mm. This is good for adapting different corn space. The researchprovides a new direction for the research of device of reel.
