The aim of this research was to determine the effect of fumigant activity of essential oilfrom Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC. against Plutellaxylostella(L.), and the changes of enzymeactivity of Plutellaxylostella(L.) larvae. In order to find a botanical insecticides to controldiamondback moth, while is friendly to environment. The results are as follows:1. The essential oil from Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC. exhibited strong contact activityagainst third instar larvae of diamondback moth. Under the same time, with the increasing ofpotion the efficacy of essential oil showed more obvious.2. The essential oil from Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC. showed fumigant stomachpoisoning against third instar larvae of diamondback moth. At the same concentrations, thecorrected mortality of stomach poison rise rapidly under essential oil fromArtemisia lavandulaefolia DC. against the diamondback moth larvae over time. Especially after24h, the mortality rate increased rapidly.3. The essential oil from Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC. showed fumigant activity againstthe diamondback moth. Under the same time, the corrected mortality of fumigant activity riserapidly under essential oil from Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC. At the same concentrations, thecorrected mortality of fumigant activity is gradually increasing with time..4. The essential oil from Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC. against the diamondback mothadults showed strong effect of fumigation. Fumigant activity of essential oils of the correctedmortality was86.67%against diamondback moth after1h,0.4μL/L treatment groups. And thecorrected mortality was100%against diamondback moth after4h,0.4μL/L.5. The diamondback moth adult repellent rate increased with increasing dose of essentialoil from Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC. Each dose treatment on repellent rate up to grade Ⅴ.6. The essential oil from Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC. against the diamondback mothlarvae acetylcholinesterase activity, acid phosphatase activity, alkaline phosphatase activity,carboxylesterase activity showed inhibition. Plutella glutathione-S-transferase activity andperoxidase activity was inhibited after the first activating of essential oil fromArtemisia lavandulaefolia DC.
