The modern battlefield combat mode has been transformed from the emphasis on the individual combat capability to the joint cooperative operation mode of multi dimension space integration. With the breakthrough of information technology, intelligent weapons and other high technology, the embedding of intelligent tracking and display & control system in war chariot has become an inevitable trend, which is helpful to the wartime information display, easy to analysis of the situation and instructions to convey, to meet the needs of information sharing and to reduce data misinformation probability. And it has an important significance to seize the opportunity and improve the operational efficiency.Firstly, the overall structure and combat situation switching logic of the system of chariot tracking and display & control are designed, and the partition function of the two interactive platforms is studied. The functional modules of the front-end data acquisition, external guidance, user operation platform, display & control console and video tracking are realized in the operational status and operational maintenance status. And the detail working process of system is given according to the function structure and combat situation switching logic. In addition, the external interface structure, message coding rules, data flow and communication protocol format are formulated. The communication system is fulfilled using RS232 asynchronous serial port, and the reserved bits and the checksum bit are set to improve the extensible property and accuracy of communication function.Secondly, focusing on the dual problems of the background transformation and the moving target because of the lens movement, the mainstream video tracking algorithms are studied and a detailed comparison of the stability of each algorithm in terms of scale, illumination and rotation transformation is carried out. Considering the actual work environment of the system, the video tracking algorithm based on SIFT is adopted to realize the detection and tracking of moving target in dynamic background. On the basis of the experiments about the invariance of SIFT operator, searching window size is set, and the Gauss Pyramid decomposition and Gauss Difference Pyramid decomposition are made in the search scope of the image. The extreme points are searched by comparing the adjacent two layers of the same scale in the Gaussian Difference Pyramid, and the corresponding descriptors are built to realize the target tracking. Under the complex and dynamic background of illumination, scale change and occlusion, the tracking results of moving objects show a high accuracy and robustness.Finally, the experiment verification and performance test are carried out on the chariot target tracking and display & control system. And the test of communication data packet is completed through the entity serial port and virtual serial port platform. The results show that the data transmission in the communication system is normal and meets the requirements of the transmission rate and the real-time. The test of the user operation platform and display & control indicates that the human-machine interaction platform of this system has good user friendliness and rapid operation response, and the communication status display normal as well.
