With the development of society, the advance of science technology and the improvement of people’s increasing living standard, people pay more and more attention to the quality performance of household refrigerator, including energy consumption, refrigerator noise, and environmental performance, especially the noise level of the refrigerator. The noise level, the grades of energy consumption, compliance with environmental requirements as important measures of household refrigerator product quality, When people buy the home appliances products. Even some users put the noise level as a primary consideration. Therefore, the noise problem of the household refrigerator products seriously restrict the market share of the refrigerator, and the economic benefits of the home appliance manufacturers. Reducing the noise and the energy consumption of household refrigerators, improving the internal quality of refrigerator products have become an inevitable trend in the home appliance industry.Based on the relevant literatures about vibration reduction and noise reduction, this paper studies the noise reduction methods of the refrigerator cabinet cavity, and puts forward some improvement measures for the production of low noise refrigerator. Firstly, the structure characteristics of the refrigerator cabinet cavity were analyzed, the cabinet cavity of small size, and compact structure, placement of a compressor, pipelines, water box parts, all the parts installation fixed position, so the various noise suppress measures can not affect the refrigerator to work properly. Then the noise of the cabinet cavity was tested. In accordance with the relevant national standards, using LMS Test. Lab test system, measured the compressor noise is 26.5dB (A). The noise spectrum of 3000-5000Hz frequency acoustic energy is prominent, therefore, the noise control measures should reduce the noise in this frequency bands.According to the principle of sound absorption, noise reduction and sound insulation, putting forward three feasible measures:using perforated sound absorption structures, using sound-absorbing material, using sound insulation board structure. The sound absorption performance of perforated panel sound absorption structure is simulated by using LMS Virtual. Lab acoustic simulation software. The simulation results show that the effectiveness of the perforation plate structure, and the experimental results verify the noise reduction effect of perforated plate structure. For the sound absorption material is light, soft and easy to deformation, the sound absorption performance of the material is uncertain, therefore, three kinds of sound absorbing materials are selected in the study. The noise reduction effect of different sound absorption materials are tested by experiment, and selected a sound absorption material of better absorption effect. using a sound insulation cover can isolate compressor noise well, but it will affect the compressor cooling, resulting in power consumption increases. Therefore, a sound insulation board with radiating holes is put forward. Four kinds of sound insulation board structures are designed, sound insulation effects of various structures are simulated by using LMS Virtual. Lab, and verified the effects by experiments. The simulation results are in agreement with the experimental results. The design of the sound insulation boards have a certain noise reduction effects. The studies indicated that using the noise reduction methods that proposed in this paper, the refrigerator cabinet cavity noise can be reduced for 0.7-1dB (A). It has an important guiding significance for the refrigerator cabinet cavity design.
