Since the founding of new China, especially since the reform and opening up, China’s railway made remarkable achievements, from the previous only hundreds of kilometers to today has exceeded one hundred thousand kilometers. in the 21st century is in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau built a rapid rail, fill the blank of china, to achieve a big breakthrough in railway technology. Now, the Qinghai Tibet railway construction has been built about ten years, due to the special geological conditions of the plateau, railway subgrade often found some different deficiencywhen compared to the low altitude area, mainly for permafrost, which makes the Qinghai Tibet railway roadbed defect detection and plain areas of defect detection so special.so we study of Qinghai Tibet Railway permafrost subgrade detection and the conventional railway roadbed defect detection of similarity and particularity is very necessary.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1.This paper briefly introduces the situation of railway subgrade defect detection, and makes clear the significance of the research direction of this paper, and explains the development and application of railway subgrade radar at china and abroad.2. Brief description of the main general situation and geological survey of the Qinghai Tibet railway.3. Brief description of the basic theoretical basis and detailed operation rules of the method and the electrical sounding method for the detection of the conventional railway subgrade.4. In view of the special geological condition and the special detection condition of the Qinghai Tibet railway, the non destructive testing method is combined with the ground penetrating radar method and electrical method.5. Analysis of ground penetrating radar and electrical sounding data, establish a database of nondestructive testing of frozen soil roadbed. For the future of the plateau railway detection to provide more raw materials and testing basis.
