The development of tourism in Tibet has tremendous potential, however, comparing with the overall trend of the development of China’s tourism industry, it is still in the lower level. As well as the coexistence of high-quality resources and high-psychological burden for tourists to Tibet, resulting in a strong contrast between high willingness to travel to Tibet and low visiting rate. The principal reason is the traffic inconvenience and other minor reasons besides its under development. Among them, the influence of various natural risks can not be ignored, which makes the tourists to Tibet inevitably suffer from the natural risk of the mountain sickness and strong ultraviolet radiation. So, it has great importance for us to research tourists’natural risk perception, evaluate and analyze the space and time distribution of mountain sickness and ultraviolet radiation risks, strengthen the risk management of nature risk in Tibet. This thesis was supported by the project "the perceived risk of nature and society of the mainland tourists to Tibet tourism and the construction of tourism safety system", which is funded by the Scientific Research Project of the China National Tourism Administration. Under the guidance of relevant perceived risk theories, the questionnaire of the perception of natural risk of mainland tourists in Tibet was designed, and the datum from questionnaire and statistics issued by the national authoritative departments were employed to fulfill the tourists-in-Tibet-oriented analysis. By utilizing the literature study, questionnaire investigation, comparative analysis, and the combination of the qualitative and quantity analysis, and following the research idea of "raise problems, analyze problems and solve problems", the research process is as follows:(1) Draw lessons from the related research, combined with the development of tourism in Tibet, we put forward the following questions:What are the characteristics of their behaviors in Tibet? What’s their perception of the Tibet various natural risks? What are the factors that affect the perception of the risks? How to evaluate and classify the mountain sickness and ultraviolet radiation? What are the overall law of them in terms of time and space?(2) Around the problems above, the questionnaire of the perception of natural risk of mainland tourists in Tibet was designed, then seek out the related elevation, atmospheric oxygen pressure, sunshine percentage data and so on.(3) At last, the behavior, satisfaction and loyalty to Tibet travel, as well as the relevant perceived natural risk and the various factors, are analyzed, also the variation of the mountain sickness and ultraviolet radiation with both the space and time distribution are depicted. Conclusions are drawn as follows:(1) It is generally recognized by tourists in Tibet that, among all the Tibetan regions, the natural risk in Ali region is the biggest, which is followed by Xigaze, Shannan, Naqu, Qamdo, and that of Nyingchi region and Lhasa is the smallest. It is also recognized that,in all the perceived natural risk, the mountain sickness and ultraviolet are the strongest in Tibet.(2) The mountain sickness and ultraviolet radiation risk are very big in Tibet. They show the tendency of increasing with altitude. At the same time, the ultraviolet radiation risk is the weakest in autumn and winter, strongest in summer(3) Uesing the Arcgis, we find that mountain sickness and ultraviolet radiation risk have obvious regional difference characteristics. The area which has biggest risk of mountain sickness appeared in the north and center of Tibet, and the area which has bigger risk of mountain sickness appeared in the east and parts of northern Tibet. The area which has the strongest ultraviolet radiation risk appeared in the Western of Tibet, The area which has stronger ultraviolet radiation risk appeared in the middle and west of TibetThe innovative points of the study are as foflows:(1) We focus on the natural risks which are the biggest risks through the tourists’ travel in Tibet (high-altitude,4000 meters above) and analyze their perception of natural risk.(2) The social scientific analysis method which based on the survey of natural risk perception and the natural science analysis which based on the dataes of weather from different regions are combined. The significance of the research is as follows:Solving these problems will offer guidance of those who wants to have a tour in Tibet about natural risks directly and ease psychological burden of potential tourists who worry about the natural risks in Tibet; it also can provide reference for relevant departments to make policies and services, and promote rapid and healthy development of tourism industry of Tibet. What’s more, it can provide reference for future research in the perception of risk about natural tourism in Tibet, and support the evaluation and research on the expansion of normal risk.
