Today, the manufacturing environment has been noticed:moving from mass production towards small batch production, with markets asking for products with higher quality at shortened time-to-market, lower costs, highly customized, better service, and with short life cycle. Thus, supply chain management (SCM) plays an increasing important role in the enterprises at home and abroad. The major objective of SCM is to optimize a supply process based on all node enterprises in a supply chain while the crux of lean thinking is to reduce and eliminate wastes, shortened time-to-market, etc. The soul of lean thinking is to keep sustained improving. This research integrates SCM with lean thinking to reduce and eliminate wastes and to meet market needs for shortening time and lowering costs in M company. In the research, lean thinking is integrated with each key process of SCM in M company based on SCOR model----Supply Chain Operation Reference, which includes four parts:plan, source, make, and deliver. The objective is to integrate theory with practice so as to improve performance of SCM, to reduce and eliminate wastes, to reduce stock, decrease inventory cost, to shorten time, and to lower costs with improving flexibility, responsivity, and agility for SCM in M company. Thus, the competitive ability of M company is to enhance. The scheme of lean SCM is presented based on SCOR model and lean thinking. Lean thinking here addresses three aspects of SCM in M company, which are planning/purchasing, production, and planning/marketing. More specifically, the above issues in SCM involve:BPR is applied to optimizing and integrating subcontracting process, VMI is applied to parts purchasing, JIT is used to KANBAN management in production, Financial Leasing to smoothing prediction the encapsulation BOX model is applied to managing parts of outsourcing, etc. Integration SCM with lean thinking in the thesis is studied more in-depth based on SCM in M company. Furthermore, Supply Meta model is presented for the encapsulation BOX model that is proposed based integrating theory with practice on SCM. Thus, SCM flow is reconstructed. The outcomes of the methodology are integrating SCM with lean thinking and thus lay the foundation for shortening delivery time and lower costs. The proposed methodology provides greater assurance that SCM is high efficiency with high performance while deepen and enrich the content of SCM theory.
