China 's Direct Investment In ASEAN

With the rising of global economic integration and regional economic integration, the International Direct Investment is showing a trend of rapid development. The development of International Direct Investment (FDI) has greatly improved the level of productivity and promoted the growth of economic. Since the reform and opening up, Chinese economy has been rapid development and economic strength has been improved continuously. As a big economic country, wanting to gain a foothold in the fierce competition in the world economy, we need to carry out International Direct Investment and participate in the international division of labor to share global resources. Chinese government implements the "going out" strategy to encourage capable and qualified enterprises participating in International Direct Investment.In 2010, China-ASEAN Free Trade Area was established, which have greatly contributed to the bilateral economic and trade exchanges and provided an excellent development platform to China’s International Direct Investment in the ASEAN and promoted China’s direct investment in the ASEAN. However, with the rapidly development, there are some problems that constrain China’s direct investment in ASEAN which need to be solved urgently. To further promote the development of China’s direct investment in the ASEAN, we should analysis of existing problems then to explore solutions. So, we must research China’s direct investment in the ASEAN.This paper firstly reviewes the theory of China’s International Direct Investment in ASEAN and expoundes the motivation, advantages and development process of China’s International Direct Investment in the ASEAN. Combined with the actual data, using the method of normative analysis and empirical analysis analyzes the status of China’s International Direct Investment in the ASEAN from four aspects of scale, industry, location and subject. Framing the three aspects of China, ASEAN and China with ASEAN and two angles of macroscopic and microscopic,we summe up the problems that we facing about China’s International Direct Investment in the ASEAN at present. Then, aiming at the problems of exploring China’s direct investment in the ASEAN we have been faced, froming the macro and micro aspects gives specific proposals to promote China’s International Direct Investment in ASEAN.Research results the question of China’s direct investment in the ASEAN is facing two aspects including the government level and corporate level currently. From government level of Chinese side:There is not a effective management mechanism for International Direct Investment; Laws and regulations of China’s direct investment in the ASEAN is imperfect; Lack of specialized institutional assessment and guidance for direct investment in the ASEAN. Enterprise level problem:The enterprises of Chinese that participating in direct investment in the ASEAN lack the required international talents; The initiative of entrepreneurs is relatively weak for Chinese direct investment in the ASEAN, especially state-owned enterprises; Chinese private enterprises their strength is low and have no sufficient funds; Chinese enterprise management system is not perfect. From the ASEAN question:Some countries’ political environment of ASEAN is not stable; Investment restrictions of ASEAN in some countries are more; Economic development of the countries of ASEAN is not balance and investment environment is not very good. From the issue between China and ASEAN:China and ASEAN have similar industrial structure and product competitiveness is great; Territorial disputes and complex political situation in the world. Some measures have been proposed to solve these problems in order to promote China’s direct investment in the ASEAN.At the government level: Establishing and improving the laws and regulations of China’s direct investment in the ASEAN and effective government management mechanism; Increasing policy support for the enterprise of direct investment to ASEAN; Guiding enterprises of direct investment in the ASEAN to choice industry, optimizing the industrial structure of direct investment; Improving China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, Maintaining good political relations with ASEAN; Strengthening assessment and information agency to be building for China’s direct investment in the ASEAN. Enterprise level:Cultivating international talents; Establishing and improving management mechanisms of the enterprise that participate in direct investment in the ASEAN; Strengthening independent innovation, improving international competitiveness; Establishing a positive awareness of International Direct Investment, choosing the right investment strategy.
