Research On Industrial Development Of Zhongguancun Science And Technology Innovation Center

Urged by the objective situation of historic connection between new technological and industrial revolution and accelerating the shifting of its economic development mode, the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Innovation Center is the national development strategy. After relocating the function position of Beijing, science and technology innovation is bearing the function orientation of economic construction, in which Zhongguancun is sure to play a leading role as the first National Independent Innovative Demonstration Zones of China. The industry development in the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Innovation Center is having an important place in the construction of the Zhongguancun itself, the whole Beijing, and all the China, and even the whole world. Therefore, the research on it is of far-reaching significance.Based on the consideration of center construction scale, development time, dominant factor for development and its chance for success, I select two typical examples of the world’s leading science and technology innovation center, silicon Valley and Taiwan hsinchu science park, and meanwhile introduce the industry development. The industrial development in silicon Valley has undergone different stages, military electronic industry in 1950 s to 1960 s, semi-conductor in 1970 s to 1980 s, computer hardware, the internet in 1990 s. Till the 21 st century, the computer system industry, semiconductor industry, software industry as well as the bioengineering and pharmaceutical industry have grown into four pillar industries. In addition, an overall structure of industrial pattern has been formed in which integrated circuit plays the leading role and photoelectric and computer industry develop side by side.After 20 years of development and construction, Zhongguancun has developed into a new structure of 16 sections in one district, and formed six major advanced industrial cluster, and four potential industrial cluster as well as new forms of business to lead the new industry direction. Among six major advanced industrial cluster are the Next-Generation Internet(NGI) technology, new generation mobile communication networks, satellite applications, the biotech health field, energy conservation and environmental protection and rail transit. In the meanwhile, four potential industrial clusters include integrated circuit, advanced materials, high-end equipment and general aviation, as well as new energy and new energy vehicles. According to the above analysis, I will present a further analysis for some typical industries from those clusters, and also give suggestions on government guidance and the development of service industry, which will be based on the strengths and weakness Analysis for the Zhongguancun science and technology innovation center and the investigation of enterprise needs. The suggestions are as follows, polishing the advanced industries, developing the potential industries and boosting the new industries. The government should take strong measures to promote economy coordination development and to support the development in innovation environment, facility construction, supporting policy and personnel training.
