The giant gate of Chinese market has been opened since China joined World Trade Organization(WTO) in 2001. As one of the consequences, hospitality industry develops rapidly and requires more professional employees. To keep balance between macroeconomic control, and supply and demand relationship, never before is the internal competition becoming so intensely. However, it is getting more difficult to hire talent employees, at the same time, control the human capital so that the total income of the hotels could not be influenced. Since managers of hospitality industry continually pay attention to human capital control, the need and contention of talent employees is getting more serious. Not much researches like this paper which is focusing on the career planning and management of junior staffs who works in star hotels. By analyzing the result of questionnaire which is filled by junior staffs from “Hotel A”, this paper aims to detect problems which is existing in junior staffs’ career planning and management, so that it could be found that the insufficiency in the career planning management system of Hotel A, and those staffs who received less educations could have a opportunity to understand the significance of career planning. By analyzing the issues of listed five aspects, job responsibilities, employee and job matching, training plan, performance evaluation and promotion methods, this paper will propose relative measures to solve currently issues from two perspectives which are how to develop and, further more, how to maintain employees who has potential abilities.This paper using Hotel A as a real example to explain the purpose and methodologies that why it is necessary to research junior employees’ career planning and management, therefore, it makes certain contributions to related topic researches in the future.
