Separated only by a strip of water, China and South Korea have been intimateand friendly neighbors since long time ago, which share a close economic and traderelationship. The trade volume has been growing faster and faster since the new Chinawas founded, which is mutual to both South Korea and China. Although Korearemains trade surplus in the bilateral trade, China remains trade surplus in agriculturalproducts between the two countries, which goes wider and wider. Due to the shortageof agricultural resources and national food security, South Korea set a series ofextremely strict technical barriers to China, so as to curb China’s agricultural productsexport to Korea. This article reviewed and summarized papers on Sino-Koreaagricultural products trade and technical barriers; reviewed the formation andtheoretical basis of technical barriers; bought out a brief review of China and SouthKorea trade history, as well as the history, present situation and characteristics ofSino-Korea agricultural trade, the content and characteristics of Korean technicalbarriers and its impact on China’s agricultural exports; analyzed the technical tradebarrier’s impact on China’s agricultural exports by econometrical models, and drawthe inspiration in the last chapter. |
