Research On Social Responsibility Of Listed Companies In Jiangsu Province

With the growth of the size and strength, enterprises are playing a more and moreimportant role in promoting the social development of Jiangsu and influencing thequality of public life under the background of economic globalization. In recent years,some enterprises of Jiangsu evade tax, pollute environment, overexploit resources forinstant success in development. The phenomenon which neglect and even damage theinterests of society and others have occurred from time to time, and these acts haveseriously affected the social economic development of Jiangsu province and theenterprises’ own healthy growth. Jiangsu province put forward a schedule to take thelead in realizing modernization in2011and basically realize modernization in thewhole province by2020.In general, the province will reach the level of moderatelydeveloped countries by then. How the government of Jiangsu province to establish acorporate social responsibility mechanism and Jiangsu enterprises to fulfill their socialresponsibility have important significance in taking the lead in realizing basicmodernization for the Jiangsu.This paper first describes the concept of corporate social responsibility in Jiangsuand then discusses the relevant theory and the necessity of Jiangsu enterprises tofulfill their social responsibilities. On the basis of the empirical analysis for the61listing corporation’s five years financial data in Jiangsu Province, we conclude thattaking social responsibility is conducive to business performance improvement. At thesame time, this paper dose a thorough analysis on the current situation of taking socialresponsibility for Jiangsu enterprises according to the actual situation of Jiangsu andthus points out the problems. At last, this paper puts forward correspondingcountermeasures to urge enterprises to fulfill the social responsibility by drawing onthe useful experience of foreign developed countries.
