Ecological fragility of karst areas and farmers’livelihoods has attracted wide public attention and study. Most of the southeast of Yunnan is karst area. Due to its ecological environment is unstable, rocky area expansion, serious soil erosion problem, less mountainous plains, declining arable land can be used, reducing vegetation cover, coupled with the growing population, increasing the demand for resources will easily lead the karst region to a road of vicious cycle, and it will seriously affect the area farmers’livelihood development. This article will take the Maguan county’s124administrative villages as examples, using analytic hierarchy process(AHP) to evaluate the ecological fragility in Southeastern region of Yunnan, using comprehensive evaluation method based on weights of entropy to evaluate the security of the farmers’livelihood, studying the region’s coordination degree of the ecological and livelihood development, providing a theoretical basis to the ecological and livelihood coordinated development for the region. The main conclusions are as follows:1) By studying the genetic mechanism of ecological vulnerability of the region, combined with the data accessibility, selected vegetation coverage, rocky desertification, slope, carbonate distribution, slope dry cultivated land greater than15°, land use, population density7evaluation factor, using AHP to establish evaluation index system, calculating the weights of each evaluation factor, deriving ecological vulnerability results. According to the natural units and administrative village evaluation units to classify the results of ecological vulnerability, and respectively getting the proportion of statistics at all levels, proposing management measures and recommendations for each level of ecological fragility.2) By selecting14effective evaluation factors of farmer livelihoods capital, establishing evaluation index system and comprehensive evaluation model, calculating the value of index based on livelihood security. The higher the value the more secure livelihoods. Depending on the European close-degree based on livelihood security and the actual local situation, livelihood security in the study area is divided into five levels, namely:safe, less secure, criticality safety, more secure and safe. Found that the county’s general lack of livelihood capital, especially the development of human capital and social capital.3) Computing the region’s coordination degree of the ecological and livelihood development, referring to previous research on coordination degree classification, establishing coordination degree classification of study area, classifying the region’s coordination degree of the ecological and livelihood development, found that farmers livelihood development in the study area generally lags ecological development, needed to make adjustments for the ecological and livelihood development synchronized and coordinated.
