After decades of development, the chemical industry of China has played a position can not be ignored in the national economy. With the rapid development of science and technology and the intensification of international competition, especially after China’s accession to the WTO, the chemical industry is facing new challenges. How to effectively transform the production link, strengthen enterprise management, improve the production efficiency has become the problems that many chemical enterprises are facing. Therefore, how to improve the level of response to enterprise decision system and market system, improve the enterprise ability to capture opportunities for development, to avoid market risks, improve the management level, reduce operating costs, enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises has become an urgent problem to solve.This paper introduces the concept of the core competitiveness of enterprises, and puts forward the main ways to enhance the core competitiveness of China’s chemical industry enterprise, enterprise information management is one of the main ways. ERP is the most important means of enterprise information management. This paper systematically expounds the concept, characteristics and development process of enterprise resource planning system (ERP), at the same time, in view of the chemical enterprise informatization level in China is not high, especially the success rate of ERP implementation status is very low and the effect is not obvious, analysis the requirement of China’s chemical industry enterprise information, offering the strategy of successful implementation ERP of chemical enterprises, and puts forward views on specific problems in the process of ERP implementation. At the same time, summarize the key role that successful implementation of the ERP to enhance the core competitiveness of chemical enterprises.Combining with the application of Lantai industrial ERP project, further clarify the implementation of strategy for chemical enterprise information, and value of successful implementation ERP to enhance the core competitiveness of chemical enterprises.
