Under the background of stimulate domestic demand regarding the market development strategy, the retail industry rises to new strategic industry in the national economy. Retail industry is the barometer of economic operation situation of a country and area which has important strategic significance to sustainable growth of their development. In recent years, with foreign large-scale retail enterprise to enter local market with fierce competition, and the development of network technology deeply impacted the retail trade. As per the latest date which released by China Commerce Association for General Merchandise, the growth of the large and medium-sized retail enterprises dropped significantly in2012. At present many retail enterprises have adopted OPM strategy which increases bargaining power with suppliers, to enhance the enterprise’s financial flexibility, trying to realize the sustainable growth of enterprises. But no scholars have studied whether the size of financial flexibility is closely related to the enterprise sustainable growth, what is the effect regarding different financial flexibility to sustainable growth. We select four enterprises as the object of case study, using the existing data resources and information to conduct comparative analysis, the author found out that the enterprises, which implement the strategy of OPM correlated positively with the size of the financial flexibility, but the enterprises implement the strategy of OPM may not achieve sustainable growth. This requires that retail enterprise should carry out moderate OPM strategy according to the actual growth of sales to maintain sustainable growth. Finally, article puts forward to strengthen the bargaining power with suppliers, to strengthen the logistics configuration and reduce the cost, so as to promote profit ability. |
