With people’s increasing demand of information in communication, in order to meet the future growing demands of data transmission rate. It is direct and effective method to increase system bandwidth to improve the transmission rate. The large bandwidth of ultra-wideband (UWB) communication system has obvious advantages in terms of improving the transmission rate.3-10 GHz is the first support of UWB communication frequency, and it supports high data transmission rate of 480 Mbps. The UWB communication system of 60 GHz frequency band can achieve higher than 5 Gbps transmission rate of wireless data transmission. Among the existing of 3-10 GHz and 60 GHz standard of UWB communication system, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is ruled as one of the physical scheme of high-speed zigbee, and OFDM UWB system has advantages of a high utilization, symbol crosstalk resistant ability and frequency selective fading ability, etc. So, the research of OFDM UWB baseband communication system has an important theory significance and a very high application value.In this paper, we do research the design and implementation of OFDM-UWB baseband communication system which bases on FPGA and compressed sensing. We propose a design scheme of OFDM UWB baseband communication which is based on FPGA and compressed sensing and use compressed sensing principle and the FPGA technology to design and implement OFDM UWB baseband communication system of 60 GHz Using the FPGA chip of Altera’s Stratix IV and Hardware Description Language(VHDL) to design the transmission and receiver system and each module is implemented by the phase-locked loop (PLL) to produce many clocks which are used to control and storage to implement the OFDM frame structure of the physical form based on the IEEE 802.15.3 c standard. We use compressed sensing principle to compress and sample the receiver signal. It uses multiple clock control multiplier cascade structure of SRAM to achieve the compressed sampling reconstruction algorithm, which saves the storage resources and reduces the ADC sampling rate by multi-channel parallel sampling circuit. We use multiplier cascade RAM locate inserted pilot in OFDM frame structure to realize channel estimation module. In Quartus Ⅱ development environment, we use theModelsim software to the function simulation of various modules, and each module is verified for accuracy. We use FPGA development board which based on FPGA and compressed sensing of OFDM UWB baseband communication system to do experiment. The results show that the system can implements OFDM UWB baseband communication function of the communication system which based on the IEEE 802.15.3c standard.The design based on FPGA and compressed sensing of OFDM UWB baseband communication system has advantages of a good secrecy, strong anti-multipath capability, low complexity and strong penetrating power. In the wireless local area network, and the design has been widely used in wireless HDMI interface, automotive radar and medical image ect.
