Research On The Early Warning And Safety Assurance Technology Of Expressways Air-mass Fog

In recent years, China’s highway mileage and car ownership continues to increase and the highway traffic safety problems are also increasingly significant. Foggy weather, especially cluster fog weather, causes huge loss of life and property to highway users due to its mobility and sudden nature. For this reason, it is of great social and economic value to develop real-time monitoring cluster fog warning system and safety and security technology for foggy area.In order to provide support for cluster fog warning and security technology research, This paper analyzed accident process and its characteristics in the foggy area and recognized the hazards of fog on expressway traffic safety through the study on fog formation, characteristics and meteorological conditions.This paper described the basic principle of digital video camera to detect the visibility through the analysis on the computational theory of atmospheric visibility. a CCD digital camera to capture road weather information and DSP image processing systems for fog warning were put forword and the overall design of the system, hardware and software was carried out. This system used modular design, using TMS320C6713 DSP chip as the core, and was divided into image acquisition, image processing, wireless transmission, information dissemination and other functional modules. The system overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional cluster fog warning system, which is expensive, less data sampling and no obvious effect. It meets the requirements of convenient, quick and safe for the highway.Based on the analysis of causes, characteristics and hazards of cluster fog, the expressway fog security technology was proposed, including highway traffic safety system, highway traffic management measures for foggy area and expressway emergency rescue system in foggy weather.
