| With the development of the science and technology, quality of people’s living environment had been more and more important. Residential area waterscape reflect the people’s high quality requirements of the residential outdoor environments. Currently, High-grade residential having water features area in Hohhot is an essential element of landscape design. So the investigation and research on the residential area waterscape have practical significance in landscape architecture disciplines.In this paper,In order to some more representative residential Communities in the waterscape that are Donganguoji, Zhognhaijinxiucheng and Shangdonglinghai and 12 water features as investigation object. By the way of the literature summarized, field investigations and other research methods to investigate deeply the 12 waterscape in location, size, aspect ratio and other aspects. With using maps, tables, and comparative, the analysis results that waterscape exist the lack of personality and consideration of the ecological environment, ignoration of using on the rain, large area of rigid pavement and other issues in Residential Community in Hohhot. And we proposed that design of water features blend in the historical context, following ecological principles and reclaimed water reuse and other recommendations.
