Building Information Modeling(BIM) is a new technology with the advantages of three-dimensional visualization and information integration. BIM can provide a platform for various information integration, management and maintenance, which can realize the exchange and sharing of monitoring information. Introduce the BIM technology into the Structural Health Monitoring(SHM) area would lead to better efficiency, orderliness and security, which would also provide a platform for monitoring information analysis and improve the interactivity between monitoring information and model. Therefore, it is necessary to study the visualization for SHM based on BIM.Research on establishing and managing the monitoring information database based on Revit is developed. Monitoring information database is developed by taking SQL Sever as back-end database management system, using Visual Studio as front-end development tool and applying mixed C# and SQL statements. The contents are designed based on demand analysis, conceptual structure design, logical structure design and physical structure design of the monitoring information. Data interaction between SQL database and Revit is achieved by adopting ADO.NET data access system. And database security is improved by providing additional functions, including database user security management, database backup and restore as well as database detach and attach. To verify the validity and usefulness of the method, a four-story steel frame structure is used for example, the monitoring information database of the structure is built, including structure information, monitoring information and data analysis information.Research on monitoring information analysis and processing based on Revit is developed. C # programming language combined with Revit API package of classes and functions is adopted to develop the monitoring information visualization module, which effectively improved the interactivity between monitoring information and model. Windows file operating system and Matlab is integrated into Revit development platform to provide technical support for monitoring information integrating and analysis. Through developing the information operation function, data analysis function and member safety warning function, real-time data update, data chart view, data graph view, data export, data analyze, member highlight and dialog box warning based on threshold are achieved. To verify the feasibility and practicality of the plug-in software, a four-story steel frame structure is adopted as analysis model, data real-time update of large amounts of monitoring information data, data analyze & process are achieved, and structure overall security state monitor experiment is processed.Zhuhai Opera House project is taken as example, the three-dimensional parametric model is built through Industry Foundation Classes(IFC) data exchange standards, and the sensor placement is achieved by establishing group model of sensor. Effective data management is achieved by establishing monitoring information database of Zhuhai Opera House, and the security of database and data is effectively improved by applying added database function. The monitoring information process function is applied to achieve r eal-time updating and visualization of sensor monitoring data, monitoring data analysis, data chart and data graph viewing before and after analysis. Automatic monitoring of the overall structure security state is achieved through highlighting the unsafe structural member and dialog box warning based on the preset threshold. By applying the proposed method, Zhuhai Opera House has achieved monitoring information visualization based on BIM, as well as improved the management efficiency of monitoring data and the interactivity between monitoring information and model.
